Tres Taco Joint — Restaurant in Stockholm

Actually the whole experience was bad. Not a welcoming staff. A lot of ego that got in the way of being able to give real service. Staff members did not seem to enjoy their work, did not seem to appreciate customers and overall had an arrogant and uninterested attitude. The employees also seem to have some beef going on between them. Taking the order seemed a big problem, as it went wrong twice. We were two people, just ordered drinks and 1 dish and we both speak spanish, as the staff does as well, so there shouldn't have been any miscommunication. The food (we did not eat even half of it) was extremely oily/fat and we both had an upset stomach afterwards and the next day. We ordered margaritas, which we did not like much either. After we were done we were asked if everything had been good. We were sincere and explained that it was not a good experience for us and that the food and the margaritas weren't to our liking. Then the person asking us, which seems to be the manager there that evening, got defensive explaining us that their margaritas are considered the best in Stockholm and other arguments that had nothing to do with empathy or modesty or actually listening to what we had to say. Good mexican restaurants are scarce in Stockholm, so it's a shame we took this one...

I feel there is a real shortage of authentic Mexican in Stockholm so when I saw this place opening up I was excited.

Overall I felt the food was fine but underwhelming. The menu was small so perhaps I was expecting a bit more. Nothing surprised me as particularly special or delicious. Not bad by any means... just nothing I would go back for.

I did think the Mango Margarita Slush was the best thing I had that night. Perfectly balanced, not to sweet and just a hint of spicy. Everyone at the table that had one agreed it was great.

Our server perhaps was having a bad day or maybe was feeling overwhelmed but she really came across as not wanting to be there. The server inside was very friendly and kind though and I think he was working hard to make up for her with patience and friendliness. Even when she snapped at him he kept his cool.

I really want this place to be successful as I would love a go to place for good Mexican in the area. A few small additions like a homemade fresh spicy salsa or a additional flavor profile here or there would go a long way. A tiny “risk” on any of the dishes would have been welcome.

Maybe just some growing pains so I may give it one more go in the not to...
