Bodega zum Strauss — Restaurant in Basel

Next to the art on the wall - Keith Harring, Picasso etc among others - the food is as pleasurable as the atmosphere. I was recommended to go and went twice. I ordered their fennel and parmesan salad starter twice and i think it will become a regular item when i go. Their wine selection is good and the food never disappoints. There is something neighbourly about the place where one feels very at ease, like a local joint. It is supposed to be a "bodega" but the dishes are italian - or maybe i do not know Spanish gastronomy that much but don't expect tapas or iberico ham... A treat and good service. What else...

Absolutely fantastic experience all around. Service was phenomenal and our pasta dishes (lemon tagliatelle and pumpkin ravioli) were delicious as was the tiramisu. It is definitely a “local” spot with many folks seemingly regulars which made it an even more lovely and welcoming experience. Highly recommend if you’re in Basel for an evening...
