Restaurant Röschtigrabe — Restaurant in Bern

NO STAR! On 10th August, 2024 around 20:50 o'clock two of us were sitting outside as first time travelers to Bern and Switzerland. I urgently had to drink water because the shops were closed to buy water and the weather was hot. The waitress (female, had a ponytail) was serving others and then my face met with her face where I smiled at her and kindly and politely hinted that she may come over to our table to take the order. BUT THEN I WAS SHOCKED! She looked at me in a very evil way, and she had an aggressive face as if I was her long time enemy, and she ignored our table and continued to go to other tables. I immediately stood up and left the place without saying anything and without continuing to put myself in that emotionally abusive vibration she gave out to my direction. Why are there people with no empathy working there when their role is dealing with people? Yes, she has no empathy because she was evil and rude for NO REASON and she is using her position to abuse random people who just want to relax and...

At first, our table was served by a nice gentleman and he was very helpful. Later on, this lady who seemed to be very busy and exhausted was passing by and making noise like “ugh!!!!” And a lot of sighs. It was super hot that day, but even so, i was so shocked that she did that the whole time.

-Onion soup was salty -Asked the lady if she can request the chef not to put too much salt in the mussels. -She then right away said to me angrily “your food is cooked already!” -I said okay then never mind. -And the mussels came out 15min after she said that. (Still hot) Don’t know what happened, but she made us think we were not welcomed here. Food is really great and we had so much fun except for that issue. After that issue, she tried to reach toward our table and started a small talk. I know she tried to be nice, however it didn’t make any difference. I am not going to walk in here when I see...

I feel like I have a lot to say about this restaurant in positive and negative ways.

1. Everyone was decently happy with the food.

2. The atmosphere was great.

3. it’s quite a Touristy area so the prices are relatively high

4. Most importantly, the waitress was very rude. I really liked understand they staff in general deal with lots of customers and get tired. Still, she was extremely talkative and made some very unpleasant comments about my colleagues. My understanding is that she had good intentions but culturally she was very insensitive. And, she was extremely talkative and distracting. She really got under my skin though I can claim I always show lots of respect to restaurant staff and talk friendly. I just couldn’t believe why she was behaving so unfriendly and rudely.

I just hope she will try to adjust her attitude as many different people with different backgrounds...
