We have been visiting this restaurant for a long time, since maybe 10years. First of, The quality is not as before. The potatos are sometimes soggy, too oily, the meat is usually fine but the salad is less fresh and always super simple, just greens and maybe if you are lucky just one piece of walnut!
What is very dissapointing is the fact that they do not have any alternative, even one main dish for vegeterians. In an era where almost all restaurants make an effort to contribute environment, climate change and changing health and wellness concerns, a brand like this have zero understanding and effort.
That simple salad and soggy chips are not meal for a healthy person.
I go there since my family likes their meat and atmosphere. And each time I am amazed they do not bother to add one little meal for vegeterians.
Of course I never go there to eat a plant based meal, but since I am there because my family or friends ask for it, they can at least have the courtesy to offer one alternative. I am aware of their name and concept, yet this should not be an excuse to reject a very reasonable request from an increasing number of clients who care for their planet and their wellness in this way.
I will be so happy to see that they add something and I will be the first one to promote their effort, and change my review here.
Having this alterntive will not change their image or risk their business, on the contrary, get respect from a growing number of people who likes to enjoy plant based...
Read moreSave yourself and DO NOT GO. I never bother to leave a review on google because i use beli for my own sake but i was INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED and had to share. We were sat outside of the rear entrance and had to do a mexican wave to grab the waiters attention basically. The food was not even mediocre, it was just not good. The meat was chewy, the sauce was separating and was not buttery, it was greasy like fry oil. When the waiter asked if we wanted the second portion, we were relieved bc the portion of entrecôte we received could fit into my palm but also confused bc why would they just not serve the full portion at once. We didn’t even get the second plate included because we didn’t want to eat a chewy cut covered in what felt like leftover grease from frying the potatoes. We thought the deserts could maybe redeem the whole experience so ordered the profiterole. Drum roll.. also not good. The choux was very tough and tasted stale, chocolate sauce was basically brown water. And the best part was when we got the check because the prices where nowhere to be found on menus, 64 CHF (which also included 2,5 CHF for tap water lol). I was tempted to approach the people waiting in line to tell them do not bother but was held back by friends. I found this place via google maps so least i can do is save another person who could be...
Read moreTap water (carafe d'eau) now costs 2.50 CHF, even if you order wine. The desserts are smaller than what they used to be. Also, the restaurant does not accept American Express. I imagine that they simply cannot afford to take the 0.1% hit in fees after charging you 2.50 CHF for literal tap water.
Remember that you eat on paper tablecloth and have quick, raw service with 1 item in the menu. This originally is supposed to be a type of popular, quick, cheap-ish French bistrot.
Of course I cannot expect to pay the same as in France, given the salaries and cost of meat in Geneva are higher. But there is a limit to how much you can mock your customers. The prices have gone so much high up that it is now priced the same as actual, full-menu, proper-serviced, French restaurants in Geneva. And then they don't take Amex as if they were a struggling food parlor in a street market? Clowns.
The fault is of the people that keep eating here (including myself) - as long as there is a queue outside, they should probably charge people 10 CHF for carafe d'eau. If you are willing to spend 70 CHF for some soggy fries, a few pieces of meat and tap water, you are the one to blame. Personally, I will not visit this place any longer since it's...
