For any tourists considering getting anything from here, please don’t. The staff is very rude to any non-locals. I encourage other potential customers to read the other countless reviews dating multiple years back of others complaining about the same thing. In each review, the owner responds apologizing and stating “we’ll work on it”. Clearly, nothing changes and it’s not a genuine response, as you’ll have some of the most miserable and rude staff “assisting” you.

In my case, I was served by an older woman, whom I asked if I could try a single ice cream flavor before purchasing it. She paused for 5 seconds and told me “No, I don’t think so”. You either have a policy on this or you don’t. When you stand there thinking and go “Mmmmm” before answering, it makes customers think there are other reasons, indicated by their passive aggressive tone. Additionally, when I paid, the rude employee could not even be bothered to place the ice cream bowl closer me on the counter, leaving me to reach far back to the employee’s side of the counter after I paid. Right afterwards, this same employee attended to a German speaking local, and her demeanor completely changed. Suddenly, she learned the skills of politeness and cracking a smile. Shout out to Daniela for a great customer service! She looked after me the moment i stepped in the door. She greeted me with a welcoming smile. When i was browsing the yummy goodies, she offered me to try one but i hesitated coz i was not sure if i wanted to buy after eating ice cream from the other bachmann location by the pier. Then i cannot resist to buy a tin of piggy chocolate. I asked Daniela if she can still offer me trying a piece of chocolate. She said absolutely and let me pick which one to try. We had a wonderful experience today,! We have travelled to Luzern from Australia, and my two girls were delighted to visit the store, which was beautifully decorated and featured some of the most amazing looking chocolates, cakes and gelato!

Our visit was made extra special thank you to the patience, care and attention we received by a lovely young lady named Cara. She was happy to let my girls sample a few exquisite chocolates before we made our purchase .
