Heini Conditorei Löwenplatz — Restaurant in Lucerne

We found a cozy cafe after our early morning visit to the Lion of Lucerne and stopped in for breakfast. They have a great selection of bakery items and cakes. The staff are friendly and gave us good recommendations on their bestsellers.

It's worth noting that the drinks and bakery items are from two different shops: you need to pay for the food first upon selecting from the counter, while drinks are ordered and paid for at the table.

The service attitude was poor. We bought takeout (latte, strawberry pie, and savory pie). Since the park chairs were wet, we came back to sit at the outdoor seats of the shop. Then, the female server unfriendly said it was only for takeout and chased us away. Later, another group of customers also bought takeout and sat in the outdoor seating area, but no server chased them away. Could it be because we are Asians? After lots of walking around Luzern, we happened to find Heini, which actually has more than one location in the city. It turned out to be the perfect spot to take a break. It’s a really cozy, local Swiss coffee shop where people were just relaxing, reading their papers, and enjoying their coffee.
