I'm a Singaporean Chinese and it is a pleasure to have authentic Thai food after 2 weeks of European fare. Little Thai was widely recommended by both locals and all our friends who have visited Interlaken. Its definitely worth a visit!
Be warned that a reservation should be made in advance for the restaurant is always filled. Walking in without one equates at least an hour's wait.
The dinner was expensive, but it's to be expected given Switzerland's cost of living. We ordered tomyam soup and a coconut milk variety - both of which were slurped down immediately.
Their yellow curry intrigued us as it's not a usual choice seen in menus. It came as a good mix of sour and spice, with meat chunks offering the right texture.
What truly impressed was the omelette! Do get it 👍👍👍 Slightly salty but with a great mix of flavours guaranteed to blow away the blandness of European food.
Last but not least was the satay. Give it a miss unless you're keen on the Swiss interpretation of this dish. Meat was served in an entire chunk and felt more fried than grilled. Wasn't in the Singaporean style at least for Satay refers to three pieces grilled oven an open fire in one of our dialects.
One last note of advice: Look at the Asian reviews when assessing the quality of Asian food! Or the reviews of wherever you hail from for each region's assessment would vary by personal...
Read moreDefinitely one of the best Thai restaurant in the country! Martin and his team definitely deserve 5 stars. It does get a little crowded at times, never puts us off. That said you can always phone in advance and reserve a table to be sure you get a place. Little Thai also offers a very wide range of local micro brewed beers. Don't be shy to ask and I am sure they will be happy to find you something right up your street meal and drink wise.
The food is to die for and pricing is really good. A popular destination for all tourists from all sides of the earth.
Be assured that you will have the most authentic Thai meal in Switzerland if you decide to dine here. During the summer seasons try to sit outside, much cooler and lively if you up for that. Little Thai also offer take aways, if you don't have the chance to grab a bite this is a good option to try out their exquisite food.
Once done at the Little Thai, cross the road and stop in at the barracuda bar for a drink or two. Nice lively crowd with great service, awesome staff and...
Read moreWe decided to visit Little Thai for lunch after reading great reviews online. While the food was great, the staff was rude and unprofessional.
When we asked if we could be seated outside , the lady in-charge shouted at us that it was raining ( we were finally seated outside so don’t see where the issue arose from as the tables were covered). Our server arrived at our table within a few seconds of us sitting down, asking if we were ready to order. We said we needed a few minutes as we hadn’t even had a chance to review the menu - she returned in 30 seconds asking again - this time more insistent. When we ordered a few items and requested to place that order for now, she sarcastically stated ‘we aren’t a 24 hour restaurant’. While we understand they were in a rush to close their lunch seating - this was at 1:30pm with the timings stating it was open till 2pm.
Overall we felt unwelcome and the staff’s tone and demeanor made this an...
