Me and my family were here last year in April. We had a great experience overall including the service (we were served by a male asian person and he was very good and attentive to our every needs). Food was great and delicious. We came back this year and were already expecting to eat again in this restaurant as our last year’s experience was excellent. Yet the reason why I gave a 1 star is due to the fact that the owner is very rude to us right from the start. We (4 of us) came in to the restaurant at 8.40 pm and it was packed so we decided to wait until we’re seated. We waited for around 10 minutes and we kept seeing multiple people left as they were done eating. I went in to speak with the waiter(caucasian fat blonde lady with glasses as we don’t know her name who turns out to be the owner) on getting a table but she quickly brushed me off as she said the restaurant is fully booked despite the fact that :
1.) The restaurant closes at 10 pm (the owner claimed it herself) 2.) There is at least 2 tables (4 seats each) just empty as previous customers left and can be used for us.
She kept on saying goodbye a lot of times in a very rude tone. “Can I get a seat for 4 pe—“ “we’re fully booked and reserved, goodbye goodbye goodbye” “but there’s 2 tables emp—“ “no no no, goodbye goodbye see you tomorrow”. That’s how the conversation goes basically.
I thought customers are booking so we decided to wait a while to see if the tables are booked and if more people come out, we planned on coming in as despite the bad service, I can’t deny that the food was good. After a while it turns out that there’s no one coming (the time was 9.05 pm) so my friend decided to go in and get a table. To our surprise we got a table as my friend talked to another waiter and he was very different to the owner and offered us a seat right away in a friendly tone. However just as we sat, the owner suddenly barged in and in a raised voice, told us to immediately leave as she already told us again and again to leave. The male waiter who just let us in was perplexed like us and (understandably) when we asked him what’s going on he said “she’s the owner, i can’t do anything”. So we left and because of this encounter, it turned our impression on the restaurant upside down.
Such a shame that the restaurant offers good food yet it is offset by it’s own owner’s bad service on customers. I understand it can be stressful and frustrating to own a restaurant but she could’ve told us the reason and not just putting in excuses that clearly didn’t materialise and at least she could’ve calmed down and explain. My mother who’s excited on eating again in the restaurant immediately went from smiling to angry. That is definitely not how a restaurant should treat its customers. This might or might not be an isolated incident yet it definitely left a bad impression. There are multiple incidents in which customers can be rude and too demanding yet sadly this isn’t one if those occurences. What good is the food if you can’t...
Read moreI had once lunch in China Garden last year and the food and service (a chinese waiter who served us) was good so I decided to come again with my family and friend to have dinner in this restaurant this time. What an awfull service and the way the waitress ( a quite fat lady with long hair) said to us very impolite and rude. We waited for quite long time by standing in front of the door without any waitress welcoming us and even ignored when we asked for a table. We saw some tables are left alrdy by the guests so we asked for the seat to the fat lady waitress and she said fully booked till tomorrow so goodbye. I asked again is it poss for us to seat in front if inside is fully booked (eventhough we see there are some tables available inside) & she said no it's full, do not ask anymore coz I told u it's full. Goodbye. The way she spoke in a very rude way and yielding at us like she treated us as unexpected guest. The waiter who told us earlier there is a place avail and has cleaned it up, only looked at us and said that she's the boss so I can't do anything. She turned her face looking at us and yielding again saying do not ask the other if I said those tables are full and reserved (that time is alrdy 9.15pm and the resto closes at 10pm). My son told me to try again tomorrow as he knows I really wanted to have meals there. But I decided not to come again to this restaurant in my life and I would not recommend to all my colleague and even to my clients as I own a travel agency. This kind of service shouldn't be found in any restaurant as a...
Read moreFirst few thoughts : Racist, Rude, Insulting, Boorish…. The list can go on. One of my first dirty racist experience in over 30 years being traveled over 12 European countries, USA, Canada, Australia, out of all the places one of the best country in the world and one of the best places in Switzerland - Zermatt. Never in a million years though would experience this in this beautiful town. Besides the Rude awakening, the food was mediocre, ordered 2 Hot & Sour soups and mixed dumplings for starters, both the soup tasted different, one regular the other one non edible completely spiced up with pepper.(it was the same soup order though). Dumplings absolutely average. Noodles weren’t so bad and the mixed vegetables with Garlic sauce again average. This is my first and hopefully only 1 star rating, whereby they ticked all the boxes for a 0 to 1 star rating. The second server tried to soothe things down and definitely assisted and tried to make us comfortable, although the damage was done. I genuinely hope someone sees this review and make them understand that they aren’t in 12th or 13th century civilization. Be polite, respectful to your clients, immaterial of different...
