Having been here and many other restaurants in zermatt, I can say without a doubt the worst meal I have eaten in a long time... Firstly I will temper my review with the rider it was my first Japanese restaurant experience. When we arrived, the reception lady appeared to be berating a couple for daring to enter. When she had gone we were left waiting until a passing waiter enquired whether we had a booking.. We did. Having chosen to have teppenyaki, we were taken upstairs and seated a one of the stations, the places were so close together I could and nearly did, share another customer food. We were given menus by perfunctory manager, who offered no guidance and was dismissive, as clearly we should have known what we wanted. I had some truly awful chicken skewers, and we decided to share grilled chicken with bean sprouts and mushrooms. The chef's made a great effort to toss pepper mills, seasoning and with a flourish set fire to oil, which wasn't even near the food. I felt like I was at a theme park. Finally it come to cooking our food, the chicken looked like it came from Migros, and that's being kind.... I guess by now he was bored cooking as ours was prepared rapidly, the chicken was flavourless and fatty thigh, the vegetables were barely cooked. I realised that everyone else ordered the steak, I see why, same price, but ends up edible. No argument with the wine, but £190 plus the wine for inedible chicken left me swearing I will never set foot in the...

Super overpriced, mediocre quality, the edamame was not so good with loads of salt on it, burned our lips, the sushi was just mediocre, small portions and got nothing compared to your sushi in Zurich which is a lot cheaper. God I’ve never thought in my entire life that I would consider sushi in Zurich to be value for money. But it is compared to this craziness! The soy sauce and wasabi are both of the cheap quality, soy sauce was way too salty and wasabi tasted like the cheap stuff in plastic packaging. They probably want you to drink more water because a small bottle of mineral water costs 9 francs there!

I understand there might be a bit of logistics difficulties to transport fresh fish to the mountains. So the conclusion is, don’t bother to try Japanese restaurants in the Swiss mountains unless you’re desolatere for it for some reason….

The service from the lady who greeted and served us was also cold, without any smiles. Judging from her level (lack) of happiness at work, I am not sure how much the restaurant owner pays its employees despite the hefty prices charged to customers. 🤷‍♀️ We had the sushi boat in the pictures below + one bowl of edamame + 2 small bottles of mineral water, and the bill without tips amounted to 192 Swiss francs. I really don’t understand the reviewers who claimed this was super authentic Japanese food. Really……… 😂 Would have given 2 stars if not for the pretty designs and...

Very disappointed with both the food quality and service here. The sushi was clearly pre-made and simply arranged from a prepared container after ordering. The rice was too hard and didn't properly blend with the ingredients, which shows a lack of understanding of proper sushi preparation. Sushi-making should be treated with care and respect, not handled like fast food.

The service was particularly concerning. I had to wave several times just to get attention from the staff. After finishing my meal, the server abruptly cleared my table and immediately presented the bill, clearly rushing me to leave. However, I noticed European customers who arrived earlier were treated much more respectfully and were allowed to dine at their leisure. This double standard in customer service is disappointing and inappropriate, especially in an international tourist destination like Zermatt.

Would not recommend this place to anyone expecting quality sushi or...

I want to say as a good lover. This is not the best JP food I had. Looking at the criticism in this google blog. I just want to say with this quality of JP food in this remote area. What do people really expect? I could say that the food a better than a lot of JP worldwide even in JP. Price wide ... yes it’s expensive, given your comparison to around Switzerland ‘s price. It’s the luxury type one. Again, I was here because of the local say it’s good and even when I speak with Japanese people they all say this is best to have. I agree so much. Only thing I need to say is 1. Improve the Japanese Rice standard. The Ginger served is a second or third end quality. Soup needs to be hotter. Wasabi should be imported directly to create a high class style restaurant charging at this price of food.
