We came here for my birthday on NYE and did not have a good experience. I let the manager, Romaine, know that I was celebrating my birthday and there wasn’t an acknowledgement from the staff at all - I wasn’t expecting anything but it would have been nice if they would have at least said Happy Birthday. I’d been emailing with Romaine to book the reservation and even spoke with her on the phone, and when I asked the waitress if she was working that night and said that I wanted to say hello, the waitress said Romaine would come to our table soon - half an hour went by and she never came, so we asked again and the waitress said Romaine would be right there and despite being in the restaurant 3.5 hours she never came by once.
We ate at several other restaurants during our time in Zermatt where we saw other guests celebrating birthdays and the hosts at the restaurant welcomed them with a complementary drink which is a really nice gesture. Definitely don’t come here if you’re celebrating a special occasion.
The cocktails were horrible (tasted like they just poured a bunch of cheap store bought mixer) and the food was mediocre at best. Dinner service was ridiculously slow - 3.5 hours for the course menu and we rushed the desert course and check so it would have been over 4 hours long if we hadn’t been in a hurry to leave by the end of it.
Overall it was a pretty bad experience and was by far the worst dinner we had in Zermatt. Do...
Read moreRude! My family and I went there, was busy, we were happy to wait. Once we got a table no one came to clean it down. We have two small children who wanted to touch all the dirty plates so after 10min I kindly asked a staff member if they wouldn’t mind taking the dirty dishes away so we could properly sit down to order. The staff member with the black hair absolutely rudely snapped back at me saying she will do it when she has time. It was the discussing attitude in which she said it as she continued to walk away. Other customers were shocked also. How could you be so rude to someone who wasn’t to you!? And in front of my children. You should be ashamed to treat people like that! Your attitude needs an adjustment! Or get a new job as you clearly don’t like yours. Reply comment: You may think my comments are harsh, but the way I was made to feel yesterday in front of my children and the rest of the restaurant for no reason when we were very understanding to the busy time and waited 10min (once getting a table) to even ask for the plates to be removed…so what ever your reasoning is that you feel gives you justification to treat someone so poorly is crazy to me! She could have said won’t be too long or many other replies so my comments here totally valid! And lastly, other guests also commented to me how rude she was. So therefore NO- I won’t be reflecting in...
Read moreWe visited as a group of 8 and had an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming, immediately making us feel at home. The atmosphere was cosy and charming, perfect for a relaxed and enjoyable time.
The menu was diverse and offered something for everyone, all of us found dishes to our liking. When the food was served, it was beautifully presented, and the flavours were simply delightful - no one at our table had a single complaint.
My wife and I shared the summer salad topped with lemon ginger chicken, and it was an absolute highlight. The salad was fresh and crisp, bursting with vibrant flavours, while the chicken was juicy, tender, and packed with a delicious zest from the lemon and ginger seasoning. We finished with a waffle for dessert, and it was the perfect sweet ending - light, fluffy.
What truly made our visit memorable was the thoughtful gesture from the staff. One of our friends was celebrating a birthday the next day, and they surprised us with a candle in the waffle and a cheerful birthday song. It was a heartwarming touch that added to the charm of...
