Considering the fact that they just opened the place last week, I shouldn’t be rating too harsh to their service.
Good side was a Japanese lady showed me to a table swiftly and kindly greeted me in a way Japanese customers expect. Sushi was pretty good from Japanese point of view. Of course authentic Japanese sushi comes with real grated wasabi but I can’t ask for that in Switzerland. Rice was slightly softer than my taste but balance of fish and rice portion was just right. Which is a very important factor of sushi. You would often find good ratings of sushi restaurants overseas just because their big rice portion.
Down sides are 1) a service person misunderstood the menu saying miso soup was not included in nigiri set though it is written in a menu; and 2) still slow service. I think both sides will improve as a team gets used to the busy environment and learn the content of the menu. Read moreVisiting Shotgun in Zermatt was one of the best dining choices I’ve made in a long time. The restaurant combines outstanding food quality with an atmosphere that makes you feel genuinely welcome. The ramen was perfectly balanced, with a rich, flavourful broth and carefully prepared ingredients. But the real surprise of the evening was the sushi – incredibly fresh, creative, and easily comparable to what you’d find in top sushi bars. What made the experience even better was the incredibly friendly team – both in the kitchen and on the floor. Everyone was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. I felt truly looked after, not just as a guest, but as someone they were happy to serve. It’s been a while since I’ve left a restaurant feeling this satisfied and uplifted. Shotgun Zermatt is not just about great food – it’s about the people and the passion they put into everything they do.
I’ll definitely be back. Highly...
Read moreIt doesn't get any better than what we experienced today! The food was cooked with fresh ingredients and you could taste the love that the chef put into it. The personnel was extremely attentive and really helpful at all times. They really wanted to make sure that we have everything we need and more. The athmosphere in the restaurant is very cosy and feels like home. Every dish we had was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the gyoza, the fried tofu and the ramen. They also have enough vegetarian options. If you're in Zermatt and looking for a fun evening with great food look no further. We will definitely visit again! Thanks...
