I had a chance to visit this place and its obviously busy, reason being busy is not the good food, main reason is its "cheap", merely serving shawarma and other Lebanese street/fast is not realy authentic Lebanese food. The taste is mid to little better than other Lebanese restaurants in the vicity. However beware that staff is pretty rude. They are commenting about customers and deliberately ignoring some customers at all. There is no queue system, people are just queueing but servers are just taking orders randomly. If your face is the one he doesn't like he just ignores you. They had no clue that this indian looking guy actually speaks arabic fluently. When they commented something about me & my colleague I simply walked out of the restaurant without saying a single word. Never going that barbaric restaurant again who doesn't know how to treat...
Read moreI stopped by Al Mouchtar for a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised. The servers are very attentive, service is quick, and the place is clean, though there aren’t many tables and in summer it gets scorching hot inside (and the tables fill up fast at peak times).
The shawarma is reasonably priced at CHF 10, quite cheap compared to other places. Portion wise, it’s a bit smaller than average, but still filling enough for a quick lunch. And dont expect the usual big durum stuffed with loads of veggies and shredded processed meat. Here, it’s different, it is filled with cucumber pickles, soft fried potatoes, veggies, and real chicken pieces!
I opted for takeaway and enjoyed it just outside near Gleis 18, where there are plenty of public benches. For the price, quality, and taste, it’s a halal spot I keep coming back to. Definitely...
Read moreThe only reason this place is so highly rated is because it’s CHEAP! The Shawarma were OKAY at best. There is no queue system nor can you hope that you will be attended by the staff when seated. It’s like no one cares and like they are paying you to have their food. As for the staff, it’s racist and rude to the core, doesn’t matter what race you are. You will notice them talking about you among themselves while pointing at you, laughing amongst themselves and talking rudely to you with an air of superiority. I was ridiculed on my face by them in Arabic for the way I spoke “twenty”, and not in a fun way. I sincerely hope to meet better Lebanese people, sure that I am...
