Café Presse Club — Restaurant in Zurich

Me and my girlfriend went there because we liked the location, and it seemed really nice inside as well. Little did we know what would happen next. We entered and waited to be noticed, which happened relatively fast. We sat inside and the waitress brought the menus. After some time she came back to check the Covid Certificate and then take the order. All good for the certificate, but when it came to ordering the unexpected happens. In the MIDDLE of saying what we were ordering she stopped paying attention to us, welcomed other people coming in and then started doing other things without even noticing we were left there without an order. We sat there for something like 5 minutes, looking at each other in disbelief, and looking at her going outside, taking other people orders and such. We left right when she came back from outside and the only thing she said was "Oh", like she suddenly realized what happened but didn't even care to apologize or something. Disastrous atmosphere, never experienced anything like this before in my life. Coffee was fine. But the manager/owner was berating her staff in front of all the customers. She was screaming and very disrespectful, all the other customers in the store were looking at each other in such surprise and disgust. It ruins the experience to drink the coffee. Berating her staff for organization during a rush, but by doing it in front of the customers, made it a very bad experience. It was to the point that raising a concern to the staff would either lead to them or us being screamed at too. No one should take this kind of disrespect. Not worth spending your money here. The actual staff were nice but the manager/owner was really disrespectful and ruining...

I’ve had coffee here a few times mostly due to its great location on the square. However while the service is always been pretty unfriendly and not so good, today’s experience was markedly worse.

The coffee was very bitter and there were two menus on the table one in English and one in German. When it came when we came to pay, the waiter charged more than we were expecting and said that the one of the menus had the old prices. Strangely the menu with the higher prices was the English menu. I asked him to remove the old menu from the table which he said he would do, and then as we left he left it on the table so I went over and gave it back to him.
