This place has been around for a long time, and to be very honest it was looking a bit tired and worn on my previous visit. But it’s been renovated, modernized and the menu has been refreshed so it’s worth a fresh visit. The decoration is nice and minimalistic (maybe too minimalistic, for my taste they could add a few more plants). There were three of us dining and we opted for the steak with shrimps, a classic burger (bacon and cheese) and a burger with mushrooms and cheese. They were all really tasty. The burgers were flavorful and juicy. They also came with delicious skinny fries which were delicious and such a nice change from the greasy power coated ones that have become common recently. The steak had been cooked with garlic and was really delicious. It also came with plenty of veg, but no fries. Since some of us had the set menu we also shared a chicken quesadilla which was nice enough. The only negatives were the confusing online ordering system which was over complex for what it needed to do. The other small negative was the plants in the drinking water which had black bits on them so didn’t look nice. Note that there is basically no car parking and very limited scooter parking so park at Big City as it’s very close. Otherwise it was a really good experience and very...
Read moreThe service was pretty nice. They had a table coming in around 1.5 hours but still let us dine and said if it was alright that we finish in an hour? As I usually have to get to numerous eateries in a day, that was actually a perfect hard stop for me to keep to my schedule 😁
Most of the employees were nice and polite, and helped us as we were slightly slow to decipher set menus.
The food was sadly quite horrible. The steak or beef, rather, for both dishes were tough and astringent. They were cooked until they were slightly burnt. If you will refer to my photos, maybe you can get a taste of what I mean. The French toast portion was miniscule but they claimed it was the standard so that's that.
I would say the food is one star. And I added 2 more stars for the ambience and the nice workers. In case you thought my 3-star rating was arbitrary. The place has good lighting and an upstairs dining area as well that was closed...
Read moreBeen going to this place for nearly 7 years. It’s just behind big city so parking is a hassle as it gets really busy. Honestly I love the food and service here. I have tried everything from the burgers to their brunches and it’s pretty decent and it’s very fairly priced compared to other places in Hsinchu. But I haven’t seen any chance in the menu here for a long time. Their classic brunches and açaí bowl are pretty good so do try them. Their milkshakes are good but sadly they used to be better and many more options. Shared platter was alright but the cheese cake was a disappointment. If your in the neighborhood and just want a place with comfort food...
