After coming to Thai Town [Tamsui Branch] t a couple of times, I think its an appropriate time to give an honest review.
Starting off with service. Pure excellence, by carrying plates by the dozen so they can serve new customers to greeting us kindly, and offering help if we need it. The waiters and waitresses are dressed appropriately and formally, and their clothes are clean, which shows care for customers. The staff here are really trained well.
Moving on to the food. As I am not from Thailand, and only been there a couple of times for vacation but have not really eaten any serious Thai cuisines, I can't judge if this is really Thai food, as other reviews claim that this might not be necessarily Thai food in this case. One thing for sure is that the food is delicious. Actually, its not delicious. Its REALLY delicious. I couldn't stop eating the Thai Papaya salad. One suggestion is to have the options to choose whether we want the dishes to be spicy, or not spicy. As an non-advanced nor professional chef, I'm not sure if it would change the delicious taste, or texture, or even the good appearance but it would be a nice option to have as I'm not a spice-eater. This is because when I ordered a Thai Curry meal, it was extremely spicy. The spice lasted until I was done eating. I drunk a total of 2 cups of water and 1 cup of Thai boba milk tea just to attempt to stop the spice, but overall, pretty good.
Now, the landscape and view. The landscape from the window: love it. Beautiful positioning, showing the beautiful views of the river and old Tamsui, and if you come for dinner you might even see the beautiful sun descend into the atmosphere. I think this restaurant is positioned perfectly.
Lastly, the organization. The tables and seating are really organized, along with the waiters and waitresses. The seating system is fair and the queue system is also fair and organized.
Coming to a conclusion, it's safe to say that Thai Town, Tamsui Branch, deserves a 5 stars for its excellence and delicacy, ensuring perfection and treating every customer the same, showing respect. One more comment: Keep it up. I will definitely come back here again, and suggest this...
Read moreMy visit to Thai Town Cuisine was quite disappointing. I came with my family and friends — expecting a flavorful Thai meal, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to what I had hoped for.
The biggest letdown was that none of the dishes truly captured the essence of Thai cuisine. Just because something is spicy, sour, or sweet doesn’t necessarily make it Thai. The distinct, bold flavors that define Thai food were noticeably absent from everything we ordered. It left me wondering — was I even eating Thai food? To me, it didn’t feel like it at all.
For example, the Shrimp Paste Cabbage arrived in such a tiny portion that I initially thought it was an appetizer. The Thai Shrimp and Glass Noodles were bland, lacking the rich, well-seasoned taste I expected. The Green Curry Chicken, despite looking vibrant, had a watery consistency and fell flat in flavor. As for the Full-Moon Shrimp Patties, I know they are originally a Taiwanese dish rather than an authentic Thai one. Even so, the portion size was quite small, which added to my overall disappointment.
In the end, I left unsure of what I had just eaten — it certainly didn’t feel like Thai food to me — 2.5stars. The experience didn’t meet my expectations, and I don’t...
Read moreRefined Thai cuisine with a spectacular view of Tamsui. We made the reservation online and immediately received a confirmation on my cell- my online selected communication method.
Highly recommend their BBQ pork slices BBQ嫩烤松阪豬肉,shrimp pancake 原味月亮, and 紅藜飯quinoa rice.
To note, we had two orders of quinoa rice one after the other, and their redness color were different (As photo depicts)! Could the color difference be due to freshness of the rice? Yet both bowls came to us hot.
Also, I encourage to arrive early for dinner to not miss out on the spectacular water view.
I’d defiantly return for more Thai food at...
