Read moreThis tea house is in a gorgeous setting. The tea is good quality, the environment is really enjoyable with the tatami mats and the solid tables, and the food is vegetarian. To be sure these are positives, but the big downside is the price and the quality of food. Presentation and originality score relatively well here, but the portions and the taste don’t quite hold up to the price that they are asking for their food.
We had an oolong tea that they served with a tea set using a bowl to steep the leaves and a spoon to serve the teacups. This is apparently a traditional method and, while it was novel, does not help the tea show off much character. It is unique to see the tea leaves in all stages though!

It seemed many people were there to escape the rain, and all the seats were full. We ordered the Exclusive Yulan Red Tea Set with a Western Platter, the Luxurious Set with Creamy Mushroom Risotto paired with Longan Honey Tea, almond crisps, and Taiwanese braised snacks (fried tofu).
The drinks were a bit sweet, and the braised snacks didn't go well with the tea. The service was excellent, but the prices were on the high side. The place was interesting and unique, but I didn't like the tatami seating as it was uncomfortable to sit properly. They also provide...
