萊茵堡西餐 — Restaurant in Zhongshan District

The food is okay but the SERVICE IS REALLY BAD. Today, we walked from our house to this restaurant because we really wanted to try this place for the first time, but suddenly there was a very big rain that was bigger than a typhoon. Even with the umbrella, we were all soaked wet, especially the socks and sneakers.

We entered the shop and a lady gave us a few paper napkins to dry ourselves, while we were dealing with all-soaked sneakers and socks. We asked for more napkins, but the lady refused to give and told us to go find it in the bathroom.

I went into the bathroom to take some paper hand towels to dry the back of my shirt. After about five sheets, the box ran out of the paper. I told (in Chinese) a waitress who coincidently came into the bathroom to pick up some stuffs from the storage that the paper ran out, but she looked at me and left without saying anything. When we called her again for service, this waitress did not look at us and walked away. The waitresses in the shop seem to have ATTITUDE problem and do not care much about customers.

Somehow, I think they seemed to treat the older customers around grandparent age, which was the majority in the shop at that time, better than us. This shop has opened for 30+ years and probably has a lot of old customers. My guess is they probably don’t care about attracting new generation of customers.

After we finished the meal and paid, we discovered that the restaurant did not charge the service fee, but we still complained to them about what happened. The cashier lady’s reaction was only “Oh” and “Thank you.” We got NO APOLOGY from any of them.

We were the only group of customers that entered the shop during the storm and asked from some extra help (giving us more paper), so it’s not like they were busy with bunch of customers in the same situation as us at that time.

TLDR; set meals are more expensive side and some dishes lacked flavor. You pay more for the atmosphere then anything. Descent date place?

Service was good, but the soup was very lacking flavor…. And the salmon and sauce was ok cooked.

Really bland honestly for...

Very discrete but attentive staff. Every part of your dish is very tasteful. Very relaxing...
