I had lunch here many years ago, was not particularly impressed. However, after reading so much positive coverage and blogs about the breakfast buffet, we decided to try it on our last day. I would not recommend it if you were to pay $880+10% per person for it. Go out and eat something else, or get Uber eats. TBH, I really regret waking up my family early for the breakfast.
That being said, there are still some good things about it. Plus: -Fruits were good/sweet. -Salad looks nice but I didn’t get to try it (line was too long). -Taiwanese thick noodle soup was pretty good if you like the taste of traditional Taiwanese food in a hotel buffet. -There’s also mini rice ball (can be finished in 2 bites) which was super cute. variety was fine. But it’s really hard to take advantage of it when there’s only 1 hour. Plus most people probably still grab the food they are familiar with, so verity is just for visual purposes.
Minus: -There’s a 60mins time limit, so if you want a stress free morning, probably not a good idea. Considering the waits for the freshly made dishes, waiting for the refills, actually taking the time to enjoy it.. not enough time, at least not for me personally. Besides the made-to-order stuff and fresh fruits & veggies, which are hard to mess up…I did not enjoy any of the hot plates. kimchi pork was super tough. Hash browns were over cooked, I didn’t like the baked beans and pork hash either. Maybe I’m just picky and out of luck🤷🏻♀️
Bottom line, if the breakfast was complimentary or they give some discount to people who stayed multiple nights there, sure why not. If you consider paying full price for it…. I’d...
Read moreWent for lunch on a weekday was welcomed with a warm greeting & shown particular food stations on the way to our table. Food quality & variety were excellent.Really liked the flavours. The marinade in the fish & squid dishes was delicious & the dessert station was to die for. We'd eaten at In paradise the day before &`wanted to try Brasserie to compare the two. Personally I thought the service & selection was intially better. The day before leaving Taiwan on Sunday evening we returned to Brasserie for my birthday & was curious to see if the selection was better due to the price is more compared than weekdays. There might be some minor differences that are hard to notice but the big difference is they had oysters on the grill. They disappeared relatively quickly & there'd be a waiting time for more to be cooked.I was impressed to see the chef temperaturing checking before serving for safe bacteria levels.Unfortunately he over seasoned them with garlic & completly overpowered the flavours. At a guess I was probably only number 8 waiting for the oysters to be served & watched them rapidly disappear but was lucky enough to receive the last two. Overall I was still happy with the quality in the evening but thought the service could...
Read moreI recently dined at Brasserie in Regent Taipei. While the selection wasn't the most extensive I've seen at a high-end buffet, the quality of the food was truly exceptional. The roast beef was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. I particularly enjoyed the bite-sized wagyu burgers – they were simply irresistible, and I couldn't stop at just one. The snow crab legs were fresh and sweet, a real treat for seafood lovers. The Japanese station was a highlight, consistently serving up beautifully presented and delicious nigiri, temaki, sushi, and maki. They also had a live grilling station featuring fresh squid, which was a delightful addition. The Iberico ham was exquisite, a taste sensation that truly elevated the experience. The dessert selection was equally impressive. I indulged in delectable French macarons, luxurious Nama chocolate, and delicate matcha cubes. And, of course, no buffet is complete without Häagen-Dazs ice cream. Let me tell you, Häagen-Dazs ice cream yummy, Häagen-Dazs ice cream good. Overall, while the focus at Brasserie is on quality over quantity, the dining experience was truly memorable. I highly recommend it for those seeking a refined and enjoyable...
