Ballad was an incredibly wonderful surprise to stumble upon. Small and cozy, the staff are very kind and helpful and also very skilled. The pour over I had was done with a very high level of care and attention to detail, even using the new competition pink cups that enhance sweetness. Even among specialty coffee, sometimes Batista's rush through the process and you can see small gaps in their preparation or pouring, but each stage of the brewing was handled with real care and passion.

I almost don't want to tell you how good this place is. I should probably keep it to myself. I can see that it is already getting popular. But I have to give praise where praise is due. This place is cozy and awesome. Jazz playing on vinyl. Excellent coffee made by people who know what they are doing. Delicious dessert. Just fantastic really. ugh. Now the secret is out, and I will never get a seat in this place. :-)

Coffee - good. It was cold, refreshing and a beautiful brew. I found the place a little noisy, uncomfortable seating. Can’t figure out if it’s designed guests to stay for over an hour or pick up and go.. the coffee table books and vinyl records suggest they want you to be there a while and sink in to the atmosphere of the space. The interiors otherwise aren’t designed for you to be there too long + the food menu has no variety.
