Edit - added a star. We went back with a group of 6. Service was great and efficient even with the larger group. Shared the meat cheese tray, bruschetta, melon wrapped in Prosciutto which were all good. The mains were 2 pesto gnocchi, tuna penne, vegetable lasagna(meat was sold out) and chicken scallopini which were rated highly by all. I tried the salmon with mushroom sauce, the salmon was perfectly cooked and the sauce had a nice flavor. If any of your group has a gluten intolerance or allergy, you have limited choices but the staff do try to assist.
Recommend for a nice Italian meal. Group of 4, went for dinner. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient. There is indoor and outdoor seating, welcoming and nice atmosphere. For the food - calamari starter was really nice, light batter and perfectly cooked. The salad Nezardda was bland and not worth it. Spinach and cheese bake, excellent. 3 people had pasta main, 1 Puttanesca, 1 pesto and 1 Tonno, all 3 were rated delicious. I tried salmon ala griglia and it was okay. The salmon fillet bordered on being overcooked and dry, which was okay for me, but tastes differ. They were out of most desserts but shared a pannacotta, unfortunately it was smothered in sweet syrup, and also gelato. Wasn't my night for food, nothing was inedible, but 3/4 really enjoyed so will go back...
Read moreWe went to Billy's because we walked past everyday and it looked cool inside. Clean relaxed atmosphere. Lunchtime was quiet but being the wet season that is typical in Chiang Mai. Prompt service . My friend speaks Thai and the two Thai women working there were just loving the interaction. They did not exclude me, it was one of those convos that everyone understood half thai half english and much laughter. The food was autbentic Italian. My friend had a crispy thin pizza and I had the cabonarra. We were hungry and our meals were ample and tasty. No greasy and my sauce tasted very authentic. The service was great starting with a glass of clean cold water and didn't have to wait ling for our mains. I also had a banana shake. Black pepper mills on every table and a very comprehensive Italian Menu. Cool aircon, just right temp and clean tablecloths and cuttlery as well as clean glass weindows and doors and photo's on the walls of many previous guests. Great reaxed atmoshpere, we could have spent the arvo there chatting. A very nice clean Restaurant with staff who are proud of their food and service. I go to Thailand every year and will definitly return to Billy's next year. Situated in a quiet Soi 3 not far from Night Bazaar with easy acess to tuk tuks...
Read moreHands downs the BEST food I’ve eaten during my chiang mai trip, and possibly the best pasta I’ve ever had in my life. The portion is big , fit for two people with small appetite but more than enough for anyone with a big appetite , the pizza was just decent though. It lacked some taste and tasted abit bland , but again it was a BIG pizza. There was also white bread served with butter for free of charge. I got the pesto pasta and it was beyond delicious, the aglio olio was also really good and and the carbonara is in the same category as the pesto. Man the food was really amazing. Also really affordable.
Food 4 /5 ( Pizza lacked)
The worker ( or I believe the owner) was soooo friendly , she was making conversations, jokes and was overall amazing. The food arrived quite fast around 25 minutes , and we ordered 7 dishes. You can also get a refill on the bread (but don’t exploit it).
Service 5/5
The vibe of the place was sort of old school western and very peaceful . Thought the place is quite hidden inside but worth the walk .
Atmosphere 5/5
Highly recommend this...
