This is one of the coolest coffee shops I have ever been to! MARX.cnx is a cafe in the heart of Chiang Mai designed to look like Mars - and they did a really good job at that! The second you walk inside cit looks like you went into some futuristic spaceship, and it’s actually a really big place with different rooms that have different designs! One is a spaceship, another is a canyon in Mars, and it just keeps going! This is probably one of the coolest places to get photos in the city of Chiang Mai. You can show your friends and they’d never guess where you took the picture! If you angle the photo right in the canyon, you could be in Utah!
But hey, the coffee itself is super good as well. Just like many of the coffee shops across Chiang Mai, Bangkok and other cities in Thailand, they have wild and creative cold brews, fruity-flavored coffee drinks, and more. Many of them are inspired by Mars and space. So even if you don’t care about the design of this place, it’s entirely worth going just to try their unique coffee drinks. I will definitely be coming back when I come to...
Read moreIt's a bad sign a cafe promotes themselves as a picturesque venue, not the taste of their coffee & bakery. First, doing this attracts one-time customers which will overcrowd the cafe and generates a bad experience. And the cafe knows that the customers, once took pictures in every corner, won't come again, so they charge their food & drink expensively. Which now comes to the second point, the quality of their food & drink doesn't match the price. Furthermore, their baristas don't even know about the coffee! (i have had starbucks beforehand and asked for somewhat lite, they suggest italian soda!! what, you don't have decaf??)... I know it's not a "wrong" business model, but I think it's a "bad" FOMO contraption. Is this going to be sustained? I'll bet that when everyone in Chiang Mai visited this place, no one...
Read moreIf you’re into space vibes, MARS Cafe is a must-visit in Chiang Mai. The whole place is designed like a futuristic Mars station—think red rocky textures, crater-like walls, and low warm lighting that gives a surreal, out-of-this-world feeling. Super Instagrammable!
Their signature drinks are as creative as the decor. I tried the Mars Latte (a reddish coffee with a subtle spice twist) and a Nebula soda—both looked cool and tasted great. Menu prices range from 100–200 THB, a bit on the higher side, but it’s more about the experience than just the drinks.
Staff are chill and friendly, there’s solid Wi-Fi, and plenty of seating. Great for photos, remote work, or just chilling with a vibe. It’s not just a cafe—it feels like a mini...
