Sapun Fried Chicken — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

Small hidden gem, best fried chicken we've ever had. No English menu so the process can be confusing, but the owners are kind and patient. The owner gave us a tray and tongs when we walked up. The setup is a large table of different fried meats and side dishes. You choose what you want and put it on your tray. Since we couldn't read the menu we just wildly chose what looked good, but everything is so cheap anyway that you can't really go wrong. You give the owner your tray when you're done and tell them if you are dining in or taking out. If you are dining in, you walk over to the side seating area and seat yourself. There is self-service water and utensils and a sink to wash your hands. They refry your selection, cut it up and bring it out to you. Seriously the best fried chicken we've ever had. Love this place, pick out what you want to devour and stick it in a metal tray. They give you a pair of huge tongs to transport the mostly fried foods into your tray. They have a selection of greens, sweet potato and pumpkins. The main dishes seem to be fried chicken and fish, I got a few types of fried chicken they were all good! I got delivery. It was spectacularly good. Fried chicken and pork was fresh cooked, still piping hot. Meat and flour coating tasty and well seasoned. Garlic, black pepper and other spices. Reeeeeaaaalllly crispy. The pork was surprisingly good. A big bone in pork chop in crispy coating. Dips were fresh and varied. Sticky rice hot and lots of it.
