Tom Yum Kai Wan @Suan Dok Gate, Chiang Mai — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

Actually I don’t understand why my friend wanted to eat here, maybe the pictures outside? It seemed like an internet-famous shop, since I found TIKTOK videos and some “KOL” posting on google. I doubted it . My friend ordered a Tom yum soup with squid 🦑 and Thai noodles 🍜. To be honest the squid was big and tender, but flavor wise it was nothing like Tom yum. No sourness, no spicy and no herbs fragrance at all. Just a sweet seafood soup, cost 90 $B， I prefer the 35 chicken Thai noodle. Anyway maybe it’s just me...

The food here at this noodle shop was very tasty. We shared 3 bowls of noodles and all 3 had a different broth or soup base. Pork,squid and shrimp, and all 3 were very tasty. The portions were big.The price was certainly fair and the staff were right on top of there game. I would recommend this to a friend and will return to try another noodle dish soon. Another recommended place from my friends, and I have to say one more time, I’m NOT disappointed! I tried the Squid noodle and Beef noodle, with the extra of pork ribs in “rich” soup (that’s what they call it). All is good! The squid is fresh, and the soup is nice but not spectacular. The beef noodle is amazing, especially for its price, WOW! I wish I had come in the evening so that the temperature was lower. Now I can recommend this...
