Holy Moly! I wasn't expecting this place to be that good. I mean it has great reviews and I read about it in articles about where to eat in Chiang Mai. This is why I was expecting it to not be as good as it is. A lot of times popular places dumb themselves down once popular and if this chicken is dumbed down then wow the original must be out of this world.
I ordered half a chicken with spicy papaya salad, no rice. I feel like I should have gotten rice, as the herb/onion mixture and juices from the chicken were asking to be sopped up but I didn't want to waste the space in my tummy. If you can, then I would def recommend getting rice with this. The chicken is so moist and tender and the seasoning is tangy, salty, rich and just plain delicious. The chili sauce was excellent as well. I love sweet chili sauce (Americans do in general, I mean it's even at McDonald's now) and man this was a great version. Probably the best I've had. Please bear in mind that if you ask for spicy, you will get Thai level spicy for the papaya salad.
Very reasonably priced. Less than 200 baht for half a chicken, papaya salad and a big bottle of...
Read moreThis grill chicken is among the best I have eaten, everytime I visit I will eat there for sure, they stuff it like turkey but using garlic, roasted straight so the fats drip away, smell great and taste great too! they have menu in chinese as well. Order the beef soup, tom yam soup, we took 2 chicken for 3 adult. avoid hot sunny time, as the place is not very well ventilated. Parking is a problem unless you are on a bike. Visit this place for lunch or dinner while you visit the wat phra sing, which is nearby THE OASIS SPA and also very near their cheap but quality shop that sells shampoo and facial product, just infront of the WAT. I usually take home 2 large bags of soap, shampoo, toothpaste at 20 to 30% off usually from super market. Tips: come before 12.30pm or get ready to fight with lunch crowd. Don't go in and chope a table like typical singapore style, they will ask you to go out and...
Read moreCome early (before 12) because the lines get long. There's no AC and limited seating. Once it gets packed food comes out slowly. Roasted chicken takes the longest. Service is brisk but not unfriendly.
When you arrive there are menus by the counter in English and Chinese. Grab one and a paper to order. √ check the items you want to order. Then wait to give the lady at the counter your order. You can pay when you leave or get your food for takeaway.
Their roasted chicken is great and the sauces are made fresh. The chicken is a bit small. Also recommend the grilled pork. Grilled pork ribs are also good.
Stir fry veggies are a bit salty and underwhelming, especially when compared to Chinese food.
Beef soup is spicy and tasty with lots of beef.
Overall pretty good value for price and tasty BBQ. Worth a visit if...
