Don't sit out of the house(old section), as the newer(but worn out) is for people who go there for busniess meeting (very louds talkings among those tables). The restaurant is badly worn out (such things as furnitures, eating utensils, drinking glasses and specially the table service). The only half good thing left here is their food, but still hits and misses. Most popular dishes are still great but the rest is a different story all together. I had not been here only just a year and a half. It's such a pity to see once the must visit restaurant in Chiang Mai had turned into. I would still come back now and then to see if they have improve at all (if the foods is still as good like before). I suggest to visit their other branch in Chiang Mai Town. It's their first branch; small and not up scale but very consistence (great food, ok service, cheap/moderate price, and very clean despite...
Read moreBeen here a couple times. I think overall the food is just ok, there a couple items that are above average (6.5-7/10), but the majority of the things I’ve tried is probably average (5-6/10). Maybe because it’s harder to find more authentic Cantonese cuisine in Chiangmai, that might increase the score a bit. But if you come from a place where you can get good Cantonese food and maybe for a better price even; and you’re in Chiangmai for a shorter duration of time, I would pass and try better food in the city. But if you’re in Chiangmai for a longer duration of time I’d recommend the Fried stuffed Taro puff (芋頭角) and the Shrimp or BBQ pork rice roll (蝦腸粉/叉燒腸粉). Personally I think it’s a bit on the expensive end for what you get, especially because they charge 7% to your bill. I wouldn’t recommend the soup dumplings (小籠湯包) or the stir fried beef rice...
Read moreI can see you really try to wow local with only few familiar dishes.
I would say above the average, but quite disappointing really.
Must try here Crispy pork (siu yuk), Crispy and right about of fat. Prawn dumpling (Ha Gao)/ prawn cheung fan, quality of prawn very good.
Must improve Zha leung (one of my favourite dish) was done poorly here. Thick noodle, stale and not crispy at all. Also, dipping sauce was missing ( peanut sauce and hoisin sauce)
Lo BAk Go(turnip paste), pretty bad. Need a bit more pan-fried
Cha Siu Sou (pork puff pastry) (my favourite dumpling). Quite Badly done here. Pastry not nice, thick and dry. Cha siu inside was average.
Living in HK for 6 years in the past makes me realise its difficult to find good dimsum outside.
Don't compromise the taste for locals!! Teach them what good...
