Some of the food we ordered was really good. However what spoiled the fun was their denial that they had given us an almond croissant that was either not baked properly or was stale. They refused replacing it - so I paid for another cream croissant which turned out really good - just proving my point that the one they gave us first was bad. Any good customer oriented restaurant makes reasonable amends for the food that is not up to the mark for a customer, but not here. And mind you this is not a cheap place, at least for breakfast. They lost a repeat customer with their customer-can-go-to-hell attitude.
Edit after the response from the restaurant - Dear owners of the restaurant: you are making things worse for yourself with such a childish response. If you were mature, you would not resort to slandering your customer as "cheap". You are just proving to me and others who read your response that your customer service is truly abysmal. More power to you if personally demeaning someone gives you happiness. Coming to the factually incorrect statements such as "you ate it all". This was simply not true. Firstly, it was my young daughter who was eating it and not myself. Like most kids she cannot understand the cooking nuances. It was me who noticed the croissant wasn't good when she was halfway through. I showed it to you and you said that "it is made like that only". And then I sent the remaining half back saying that I do not want my daughter to eat this after you took no steps to replace it. This was what happened. The readers can decide for themselves which side of the story they would want to believe in. My review was quite fair - I praised most of the food if you care to read it with open eyes. And I rightfully criticized what was not good - the customer service. This is what an honest review is...
Read moreItalian Job is my go-to place for daily lattes and brunch. They have the cutest patio (with fans!) that is a little higher than the street level giving you a nice lookout point. Best lattes in Phuket made by Sylvia, the owner. Wonderful service from NamFon, Green and all the lovely Thai ladies that work here. The food is so fresh and delicious. I love the poached eggs and avocado on sourdough, eggs and bacon, smoothie bowls, juices, honestly everything! She has all things Nutella. Sylvia bakes all the pastries every afternoon. You MUST try one! In the evening, many people come for coffee, liqueurs and dessert on the patio. Great cozy spot for a little social.
On a side note, I wanted to mention the generosity of Sylvia and her crew. They help me with a little colony of cats that live down the laneway. She stores their cat food and her staff feeds them daily for me as I don’t live here. It is immensely kind and I can’t thank you enough for your help in this situation.
Thanks Italian Job for the best eats and drinks! Can’t wait to...
Read moreWe ordered eggs and toasted bread, but the bread was only toasted on one side, while the other side was completely untoasted. On top of that, the food was incredibly bland and lacked any flavor. The coffee came with a cookie so tiny it was embarrassing to serve—barely the size of a peanut.
The waitress was extremely obnoxious, showing no respect for personal space and not understanding a single word of English - It’s understandable not to know English, but not understanding what you’re serving as a waitress is unacceptable.
When I raised concerns about the poor customer service with the owner, her response was shocking. She displayed the worst attitude, dismissing my feedback entirely and stating she didn’t care because her shop already gets plenty of customers. 👎🏼
If I could give this place zero stars, I would, but unfortunately, I’m forced to give them one, which they definitely don’t...
