Pizza Balconi halal — Restaurant in Karon

When I came to Thailand, I never once thought, “PIZZA”. But, when my wife craved a pizza, pizza for dinner it was. The only question, “Where do I find a “decent” pizza in Thailand”? Nights of street food and wonderful local cuisine had me on a different food mode.

While in Phuket, I hit Google Maps, and a block away from my hotel was Pizza Balconi (Balcony Pizza?) loaded with excellent reviews. A short walk later, and a few minutes to figure out it really was a balcony, up some stairs to a pleasant outdoor setting, I was greeted enthusiastically by the owner and surrounded by big smiles.

I ordered a plain cheese for wifey and went all out for a supreme for me. Watching my pizzas being made from all fresh ingredients and dough, the odor soon hit my nose creating that anticipation that good food inspires. My order to go was soon presented to me and I took a bite out of slice of the supreme as a courtesy to the owner who clearly hoped to see this American’s reaction to his art-craft (because as he put it, Americans REALLY know pizza).

My quest however was a failure. I did not find a “decent pizza”, I found an EXCELLENT pizza. The dough was light in texture and taste, not taking anything from the flavors on top, but also held its firmness from crust to point for easy one handed eating and a delicate crunch. The toppings melded perfectly together under a thick blanket of golden baked mozzarella. Simply put, absolutely delicious!!! 😋

Pizza Balconi is definitely worth the time no matter where you come from or for what you are looking to eat. I love Thai food, and mostly eat at the evening market, but that is often “too late” in the day for my habits. My pizza was perfect for my late afternoon hunger.

A wonderful restaurant with a wonderful owner and great staff! The owner’s passion and commitment to quality food and warm service is really apparent in his behaviour. Such a welcoming man who obviously thrives in providing a first class service to his customers!

As for the food, what can I say! We ordered 2 pizzas and some fries as only the kids were eating and I have to say they were absolutely delicious! I obviously couldn’t resist and had to apply the ‘dad-tax’! They tasted just as good as they looked and they looked pretty damn good.

The owner even came out to take photos for my wife who like most of the ladies who visit just had to get some shots on the little swing.

A shame we left the very next day otherwise would definitely go back for more!

5 Stars – Best Halal Pizza Experience in Phuket!

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at this Pizza Balconi two weeks ago, and it was truly a memorable experience. We ordered the Pineapple Chicken Pizza and the Soujuke Pizza, both were absolutely chef’s kiss! Flavorful, juicy, and packed with just the right amount of spice and cheese. The crust was soft yet perfectly crisp on the edges, just how we love it.

What made the experience even better was the owner himself, warm, welcoming, and passionate about his craft. He personally served us and shared how he makes everything from scratch. You could truly taste the love and effort in every bite.
