Arisa Kitchen — Restaurant in Karon

Very disappointing. We came to have dinner after reading all the nice reviews. Unfortunately my experience was unacceptable. Before ordering a salad with shrimp I asked what dressing it comes with and the waiter said that it comes with Italian dressing which I was okay with it and I mentioned that I don’t want any mayonnaise. The next thing the waiter brings a salad with the thousand island dressing on top and a bottle of Italian dressing saying that she forgot to double check and accepted her fault. I asked her to change the salad. She brought the salad back with the shrimp that looked like the dressing was washed out from the original shrimp because it had some stuff on them. I questioned it "what is it?" and politely asked to make a new salad. I have to mention that we also ordered spring rolls and it came with thousand island dressing which is not the dressing that usually comes with the lettuce spring rolls. We didn't question it and just accepted it. The third time the lady from the kitchen brings my salad with really bad attitude and all mad pointing on the dressing that came with spring rolls questioning me that I can eat thousand island dressing with spring rolls but not with my salad? She created a scene because at least three workers on a back of the restaurant looked at her when she complained walking through the restaurant. The salad was good but it came with only four shrimp instead of six like it was in the first version of the salad. The lady’s attitude was just unacceptable and wrong. In general I’m satisfied with this restaurant. Dish (phad thai..) was served fast, and big portion, and tasty.

Minus 1 star for that the personnel could speak very little English. This led to ordering a beverage barely incompatible with the dish.

By what I saw, I assume the problem of bad understanding of toursists’ clarifying questions actually seem to apply to many cafes and restaurants in the area. And maybe not only restaurants. And this looks a bit strange to me, since everything here is tourist oriented and I’d be more logical that staff could better understand what a...

We would strongly recommend this place for a lunch and dinner. We were amazed by portion size, food quality and the way it is served. After travelling in Thailand for a long time , Arisa Kitchen restaurant deserves to be a number one in our minds. Very affordable , beautiful looking and unbelievably tasty.
