Bar Us BKK is not just a barâitâs a full-sensory deep dive into flavor architecture, where culinary imagination meets precision mixology. Tucked in the heart of Bangkok, this spot is rewriting what cocktails can be. Forget the classicsâhere, every drink is an edible narrative, a layered experience that blurs the line between bar and kitchen.
Take the TRUFFLE + CINNAMON + PINEAPPLE, for example. This cocktail is a masterclass in contrast. Earthy truffle and warm cinnamon bark are balanced by juicy pineapple and a silky touch of coconut. The use of Saneha gin and a subtle saline note creates something equal parts indulgent and refreshingâan elevated, carbonated burst of umami and fruit.
Then thereâs PAD THAIâyes, the dish, reimagined as a cocktail. Itâs wild, but it works. Leek distillate provides a vegetal backbone, while chili oil and tamarind deliver just the right amount of heat and tang. Coconut, nut syrup, and ginger brine round it out with sweet, spicy depth. Itâs complex, savory, and so cleverly balanced that it made us laugh out loud with disbelief.
RAMEN is a love letter to Japanese izakayas, served in a glass. Fermented rice, yuzushu, and actual ramen broth blend seamlessly with Roku gin, pickled ginger, and nori. Itâs salty, rich, and bright all at onceâlike slurping ramen on a cold Tokyo night, except sparkling and ice-cold.
For something with kick and clarity, the GUAVA LEAF + GREEN CHILI + KAFFIR LIME is unforgettable. The guava leaf and Botanist gin offer elegance, while green chili and kaffir lime bring boldness and zing. The lychee and ginger brine pull it back from being too fiery, making it dangerously drinkable.
BEEF + ONION is a standout. It reads like a dare, but drinks like a revelation. Beef jerky, chili oil, and red onion bring rich umami, softened by cucumber, kaffir lime, and ginger. Ketel One anchors it all, while the salt solution and sour element cut through the intensity beautifully. This isnât just a drinkâitâs an umami bomb with soul.
And finally, OUR MICHELADA is exactly what youâd expect from this place: extra, complex, and undeniably good. Hops distillate and Jameson set the foundation, while tomato juice, chili, BBQ sauce, and tabasco create a spicy, smoky, mouth-coating punch. Itâs brash, satisfying, and unapologetically bold.

I had been here before, right after it first opened, and had a great experience. Came back again tonight and boy, what a disappointment.
Made a reservation for 8p, and when we got there, they seated us in a very cramped table next to the entrance. Weâre relatively tall and couldnât really fit in the seat, so we asked to move. They moved us to another seat on the other side of the entrance on a small crammed table next to a speaker blaring loud music. The table barely fit 2 water glasses and a snack bowl and were so cramped that we couldnât even sit facing each other. The waiter came over to explain the menu, almost shouting because the music was so loud since weâre right next to the speaker. I barely heard what she was saying. I was getting visibly annoyed and asked to move again to a proper table because itâs loud and cramped here. She then said okay Iâll turn down the music.
What. The. Heck.
I finally got frustrated and asked to move one more time, and I was ready to leave if they werenât going to move us. They finally put us at the bar counter where there were already two open seats! Also, 10 mins after we moved, the bar opened up and there were NINE open seats at the bar. Why werenât we seated at a proper spot to begin with, especially when we had a reservation?
For 550 a drink, shouldnât we be able to expect a comfortable environment to enjoy our cocktail? Instead of having to yell at each other.
Moving on to the drinks, I got the ramen drink which was very dimensional. Tasted like ramen with a shot of vodka, and thatâs not a compliment. The fact that they give you ginger to mask the taste of ramen kinda says a lot (you eat ginger after sushi, not ramen). My partner got the Italian parsley and tomato something drink which was interesting and could stand on its own as a drink, so thatâs recommended. Oh, also, my partnerâs first choice drink was sold out, at 8:15p on a Saturday night. Just thought thatâs strange and shows a lack of planning on the barâs part.
Ultimately, half of the drinks was a miss. The environment was a miss. They won some fancy award, got greedy, and tried to cram in people by adding two cramped tables next to the door. Bangkok has so many excellent cocktail bars; go...
Read moreBar Us is a small, stylish bar tucked away in Soi Sukhumvit 26. Yesterday, on Christmas night, I spent two hours driving there from home đ, and let me tell youâit was worth it. I arrived at 7:30 PM and stayed until nearly 11:00 PM. The place had a steady flow of people coming and going throughout the night.
The drinks here have a unique concept, almost like a course meal: starting with a âstarter,â moving to a âmain course,â and finishing with âdessert.â Their savory drinks menu is a must-tryâitâs like enjoying a full savory dish but transformed into a cocktail, and somehow, it works! That said, I personally loved the dessert cocktails the most đ. Each drink is on the pricier side, but the creativity and variety in the menu make it worth it.
While they donât serve full meals, the bar snacks are addictive. I ate more than I planned because I just couldnât stop. The only downside? Parking. Thereâs a small parking area in the alley near the bar, but I ended up parking at a local lot after making a wrong turn. Big mistake! When I wanted to leave, my car was blocked, and I had to leave my phone number on the wiper in front of my car. Eventually, someone called to ask me to move, and it turned into a full-blown operation with about five cars trying to exit at the same time. It took a solid 20 minutes, complete with someone volunteering to act as a traffic coordinator. It was chaotic but oddly amusing.
So, my advice: donât drive! Save yourself the parking drama.
P.S. I used the âYou Drink, I Driveâ service to get home safely, so no worriesâeverything was legal. Drink responsibly, donât drive! (Just putting this out there to avoid...
