Overall a postive experience, but with a few caveats. We live in Bangkok and are frequently at French restaurants on the weekends. This place has a lovely ambiance, great architecture, and nice waitstaff. Appetizers of French onion soup and chicken liver pate were excellent. The freshly baked bread with special garlic butter was also very good. The mains were lacking though, they came out quite late and we were shocked at the size of the steak frites in particular, miniscule tapas-sized portion. Given that we were sharing mains it seemed weird to get only two bites each of steak. Given that this is a fine dining experience, if they are making it super small to keep the prices down I'd recommend they just increase the price a bit and provide a normal portion. Four super thin slices of beef seened odd in comparison to the rest of the meal. We looked online afterwards and the portion we were provided was definitely smaller than others posted online. The duck breast was also not cooked properly, it was extremely chewy and the skin not crisp. For dessert though the sticky date pudding was great and the chocolate mousse was good with an olive oil drizzle (not sweet at all). No alcohol served due to a holiday today so we would go back to try their wine and cocktails. Will go back to try other things but will definitely pass on the steak...

Dining at Verlan is a truly memorable experience that effortlessly blends sophistication, innovation, and authentic French charm. From the moment you step inside, the ambience is warm and refined, with thoughtful design and lighting that sets the perfect tone for an elegant meal.

The menu is a celebration of French cuisine with a modern twist. Each dish is beautifully plated and perfectly balanced in flavour and texture. The attention to detail is outstanding — from freshly baked bread to delicately prepared entrées and show-stopping mains. The beef tartare was a standout, and the duck confit melted in the mouth. The desserts were equally impressive — refined, indulgent, and visually stunning.

Service at Verlan is attentive without being intrusive. The staff are knowledgeable, passionate, and genuinely dedicated to ensuring guests have a seamless dining experience. The sommelier’s wine pairing recommendations elevated the meal and showcased the restaurant’s exceptional cellar.

Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply want to experience fine dining at its best, Verlan delivers on every level. It’s rare to find a restaurant that gets every detail right — but Verlan does.

Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates world-class food, wine,...

Beautiful garden like restaurant with dim lights and spacious feel ambience. It sure is suitable for a romantic dinner with candle lights. The service was the highlight of our visit. Both the host and the waiter were very attentive at all times. We sure felt well taken care of, which is sometimes rare to find even often times in high end resturants similar to this. The drinks were balanced and of high quality. And of course being a French resturant, the wine is too notch; but make sure your wallet is ready for that too. The food was good, but I can't say it was to my taste. Perhaps what made it more challenging was the diet sentitivities we had. Which to be honest they really try to customise the dish we oredered the roasted chicken with risotto rice (which contained some milk, but they manage to do it without) and so everything else as well. So it felt like the dishes were missing in flavour. However the desserts were very tasty. The apple tart was very tasty as my partner reported. I had the strawberry sorbet and I have to say it was very different. While being a sorbet it had a certain smoothness to it that typical more icy kind of sorbets don't have. I am sure I'll go back if anything for the superb service provided but likely I'll stick to meats...

I had dinner with friends at this restaurant and it was such a lovely experience. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the food truly exceeded expectations. We started off with the complimentary bread and butter — simple but so good it set the tone for the meal. For appetizers, we shared several dishes. The shrimp cocktail with kaffir lime sauce was surprisingly flavorful, a refreshing twist that we didn’t expect. The mochi cheese was a fun and indulgent favorite (a true treat for cheese lovers!), and the chicken liver pâté served with toast and delicious accompaniments was so good we had to order extra. For mains, we had two standout dishes: the steak and the pork shoulder. The steak was juicy, but the pork shoulder was the unexpected star — tender, rich in flavor, and absolutely unforgettable. We ended the night with a dessert I can't quite remember the name of, but I do remember the miso ice cream on top — such a unique and satisfying finish to our meal. All in all, it was a perfectly balanced dinner shared with great company. Highly recommended!
