Indus is a very traditional, gorgeous Indian restaurant. The atmosphere is great with gentle music and attentive staff (some do not speak Thai fluently, but they are patient). Every dish is presented with classy styles, befitting of a Michelin Starred Restaurant as well as a price to match. The ingredients incredible, their tea is calming. Their portions are of the medium to small size, and the Lassi (milk looking drink) I want to say was interesting. I tried the salted lassi and let me tell you it was a great experience I will be trying once. If you want a cup, anything but salted will probably taste better, not to say the salted lassi was bad, it was just concerningly disconcerting to my tongue. However, the main gripe of this place, to me, is that this is very ‘bland’ Indian food when compared to most other Indian restaurants. Out of every Indian restaurant I’ve had, this is the weakest in flavor but however, it is by no means bad. This is most likely as the dishes are catered towards foreigners who may prefer more pleasant aromatic flavors rather than the striking dishes of most other restaurants. The restaurant has a very mellow flavoring in all dishes which I believe would be very much liked by any who may find most Indian food too strong. This is a good place to take someone who’s not good with strong flavors to introduce them to Indian food if you are willing to pay the price. Otherwise, if you are looking for, with all due respect to Indus for their gentle, finely crafted flavors (deserving of their star), “authentic” Indian food—head...

Indus occupies a very pleasant and relatively (for Bangkok!) quiet location in an old house and garden, and the interior decor is simple, with a sub-continental overtone here and there. It all works rather well to create an understated and relaxing dining environment.

While fairly lightly staffed, the service was friendly, attentive and efficient, with only a couple of minor glitches that I noticed. Professionally trained staff who were able to talk knowledgeably about the dishes on the menu.

I had rather wanted to try the tasting menu but there were a couple of dishes my partner couldn't eat, so we opted for a la carte. I was impressed with the recipes, and the subtle combinations of flavour that emanated from every dish. For starters we ordered the mutton chukka (gorgeous quality of meat, perfectly cooked) and khumb galouti (finely chopped and spiced mushrooms on bliny-sized parathas) which were almost meat-like in their texture. Mains were tandoori sea bass, Punjab-style, a superb effort; and a quite rich Malabar prawn curry which was enjoyable but perhaps the least successful of our selections. We finished off with a yummy kulfi and a coconut sorbet (which my partner claims is the best she's ever eaten). All dishes were lovingly thought out and executed, and far from your typical Indian restaurant fare.

The wine list felt a bit random, but a Penfolds Chardonnay did the trick quite okay with the food.

All in all a most enjoyable evening and I look forward to going back -- next time for the...

On 10 March 2023 at 09:35 pm, i went with my girlfriend. we have been escorted to a table by a staff. We were given a menus for order. Suddenly waiter approach us for taking order. We placed an order and due to fear about closing time 10:30, i reconfirm the time, waiter said restro close 10:30. I asked, if we reach closing time, we still can eat at table for earlier menu, waiter replies "10:30 means 10:30" I asked we have to leave restaurant @ sharp 10:30, staff said yes strictly move out. Later manager come to us nearly 10:20 pm asking for if we want to order anything more, then i said we cannot eat after 10:30 how can we order just 10 or 5 minutes before. Manager said cannot order after 10:30. I informed him about his waiter topic. Finally manager want to hide his staff mistake and said yes we dont allow to eat after 10:30. And correct , customer have to move out. I strictly go out at 10:30, and more than 15-20 guest still eating.

I never saw worst hospitality such like this. I am as well work in hotel and knows hospitality code well.

But these guys made me upset. I will never recommend anyone to have dine in at this worst indus bangkok restaurant. These people knows how to insult or feel embarassment to customer. My first and last experience at...

Whike walking on the street, I happened to see this lovely restaurant and I had been craving Indian food so I went in for dinner. I was immediately welcomed at the door, asked if I had a reservation, (which I didn't) and was shown to a beautiful quiet spot in the back area of the restaurant facing a large outdoor garden area that looked like the perfect place to host a party. The service was impeccable, friendly, attentive but not intrusive, and I was even visited by the manager Mr. Manit Gulwan, who inquired if I was pleased with my meal. I ordered mutton samosas, a coconut curry shrimp dish, steamed rice, and an almond pistachio ice cream for dessert. My food was delicious. I would have given it 4.5 stars if that was an option. I withhold 5 stars for food that makes me moan with pleasure at every bite. I would say the ice cream was in that category. It was the most expensive meal I had while in Bangkok, but if you want a 5 star dining "experience " you pay for it. After my meal, I was warmly escorted to the door by Mr. Gulwan who made sure I had a safe ride home. I hope to visit again the next time I am in Bangkok.

This establishment truly proved to be an exquisite choice on the night of Deepavali. The culinary delights surpassed our expectations, offering an array of excellent dishes that delighted our taste buds. The staff were not only attentive but also added to the overall experience with their exceptional service. The cocktails, although not our primary focus, pleasantly surprised us with their quality and taste. The ambience of the place was a blend of classical elegance, adorned with captivating paintings that added a touch of sophistication to the atmosphere. One noteworthy aspect was the generosity in portion sizes, which unfortunately led to our inability to finish all the delectable offerings placed before us. The abundance of delicious food made it challenging to savor every bite, but it certainly left a lasting impression. For anyone seeking authentic and flavorful Indian cuisine, I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment. It's an absolute gem that deserves to be experienced by all food enthusiasts looking for a memorable dining experience.
