I recently visited the Golden Bowl restaurant located on Sukhumvit Soi 26 and wanted to share my experience. The restaurant boasts a pleasant ambiance and the staff are well-trained and attentive. However, I must admit that I was quite disappointed with the overall taste of the dishes, as they were rather plain, with the exception of the wonton soup, which was quite enjoyable.
One dish that left me particularly unsatisfied was the roast goose, as it had a peculiar odor that affected its flavor. The vegetables, while cooked adequately, were simply boiled and lacked any distinct seasoning, save for a bit of oyster sauce.
Furthermore, I found the prices at Golden Bowl to be on the higher side, especially considering the overall quality and taste of the food. Consequently, I did not feel that the experience provided good...
Read moreIf you’re looking for authentic Cantonese food in Thailand, this place is a must-visit! They offer a wide variety of delicious dishes, but my personal favorite is the Soy Sauce Chicken with Rice—I order it almost every time I go. It’s tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. I usually pair it with Lettuce in Oyster Sauce, which is simple but incredibly satisfying.
If you’re a fan of Hong Kong-style congee, this is hands down one of the best places to try it in Thailand. Rich, comforting, and full of flavor—highly recommended!
Other great dishes include: • Beef Rice Roll (it used to be even better, but still quite good) • Stir-Fried Flat Rice Noodle with Beef Slices • Wonton Noodles
In my opinion, this is easily one of the best Cantonese restaurants in Thailand. Highly recommended for anyone who loves true Hong...
Read moreBBQ pork was awful. You can see in the picture it's all caramelized even in the middle. Like it was last week's leftovers.
The shrimp wonton and noodle would've been better if they left out the "ha mai" (dried shrimp), why add this when you have real shrimp, the taste of this overpowered the wonton.
The BBQ pork cheung fan was alright, nothing the rave about, but same issue with the BBQ pork as above.
The pork and preserved egg congee was their only highlight, as the other reviewers mentioned, it's tasty and not too salty. No added MSG and generous portion.
I ordered a pot of chrysanthemum tea and they only gave me one tea cup, they wanted to charge an extra 60baht for another cup. Ridiculous!
Will not return, food quality not that good...
