Hong Bao Emporium — Restaurant in Khlong Tan Subdistrict

My wife and I were in Bangkok for 2 weeks in February 2024 and we just couldn't pass the opportunity to visit Hong Bao. In March 2023 we spent 17 days in Thailand and had our first Hong Bao experience at Icon Siam. The food at HB Icon Siam was really good but it took them at least more than 5 minutes for each of our order to come out. This time at HB Emporium, the food was even better I think and the portion much bigger. They also came out almost at the same time. The servers were good as well. The following week, we came back again because i wanted some more of the Peking duck and this time we ordered a whole duck. We actually ordered too much that we couldn't even touch the pork fried rice and had to have it to go. The food was perfect but there is something that i have to mention and this happened on our second visit. When we were waiting outside obviously waiting to be seated, this very large woman came out looking at her phone. Instead of talking to us, she put her phone on that small table in the front and start doing something with it. She just totally ignored us until my wife looked at me kind of confused. After a good 2 minutes at least when this woman just keeps on doing what she was doing with her phone, my wife finally said "excuse me" and that is when she finally ushered us in. I eat HongBao in many shops, Sukhumvit 39, Ramindra, Bangna. I am super familiar their taste especially sharkfin soup. Today tried Emporium shop. the taste of sharkfin was totally strange, lack of taste. Same like in the past I complaint to Bangna shop. Because I am eating every month and when the taste changed I know immediately. Also I am working in food industry tasting a lot of taste. Today to reconfirm the taste, I ordered 2nd set of sharkfin to check the taste compare to first set. Absolutely taste is different. I am sure Chef was mistaken the cooking way and missed adding the ingredients. However, the chef was not accepted my remark. As a high end restaurant chain, The chef at emporium shop should got fired. Under estimated the fun of HongBao customer’s sensory. Can’t be a good chef and...

Excellent dim sum, delicious, it’s one of the best dim sum in Bangkok. We had the sour fish soup which was also very delicious. The lobster noodle was totally not worth it. The lobster was not covered with slimy and not that fresh. The noodle was too soft and sockey. The promfet with truffle was awful. The fish was not fresh, tasted like frozen fish with truffle which made it worst. It was so salty. We all had a bite and had to send it back. Btw it was by 2390. The server came back and said the chef said nothing wrong with it. The Service is average just like any restaurants that you can’t fully communicate well with the servers.
