Masala Mahal — Restaurant in Khlong Tan Subdistrict

Called Masala Mahal from hotel nearby and the gentleman who answered was polite, friendly, attentive, and that made me feel good for ordering food for delivery. At his request, I sent him address via Google Maps and after a while, I received confirmation that the food shall be delivered shortly and it was.

I tipped the delivery man, especially considering it was Christmas Day in Bangkok. He was pleased and subsequently texted as well expressing his gratitude.

Took the food items to my room. Everything was in order: Chicken Vindaloo, Daal Tadka, two naans, and a small plastic bag with red onions and chili peppers which I had requested.

Opened the containers and the Vindaloo , a traditional Portuguese/Goan dish from India, did not quite look like Vindaloo does when cooked correctly. But, deferred judgment, unwrapping the foil around the naans that were incredibly limp and soggy, the worst kind of fresh naans one can put on the table, difficult to chew, forget about any crunchiness. Yet, dipped in the Vindaloo and took a bite. The Vindaloo was terrible tasting, nowhere near anything it should have been. And, less importantly but important, nevertheless, no potatoes. It is called Vin (wine or wine vinegar) Daloo (with potatoes).

Daal tasted okay … and, I mean okay as in C or C minus … but was lacking salt. Bland daal made blander.

Long and short of it is that the several hundred baht were literally tossed away in the trash. Only the onions and peppers were...

Disappointed. I went there twice. First time I ordered paneer kulcha with chole & they didn't serve chole. Also it wasn't kulcha but stuffed naan. I gave feedback that you should read your menu and simply copy paste or if cannot serve that item remove from it. Till date they haven't done that

Inspite of that I thought of giving them second chance and went again. Naan was half baked which I told them and chef replaced it but then it has hair in it. Upon pointing the same they didn't do anything. I gave up. Both the times they didn't offer any refund or discount.

If inspite of giving feedback they don't do any changes I guess they deserve this review.

It clearly shows how much you care for customers. I pointed to the hair to staff who served kindly verify with lady who was serving, to another gentleman who I believe owns or has something to do with restaurant sitting the corner and was having a meal.

In regards to me looking for free meal or discount if you want to put me in that category it's upto you but any restaurant with hygiene issues & partial fulfillment of order would not be charging.
