Taling Pling was one of my and many of our groups favorite restaurants in BKK. Unfortunately, the kitchen has decided they are no long going to use chicken breast meat for his chicken curry and other chicken dishes. Instead, they are going to use chicken parts with skin and some bones. Having eaten at Taling over 30 times over the past 4 years, we always (in the past) found they used super quality chicken breast - until Feb 2019. When our party as served two chick dishes in February, they proved to be un eatable - skin, pieces of chick parts, bones - and we retuned them both. The manager (all of whom are wonderful) said this was because they ran out of breast, but next time they would have chick breast. We called before our party went back tonight, and we were told the chicken would be breast meat. When we arrived, we checked again and the manager let us know that the kitchen was only servicing pieces of chicken with skin and some bone - from now on - for all chicken dishes. We of course left and went to another restaurant that of course used quality chicken breast meet . We have heard friends comment on the poor chicken at Taling Ping, so it seems this is the new standard out of the kitchen. Going from one of the best BKK restaurants, to being one we can no longer enjoy is unfortunate. The kitchen staff at Taling need a wake up call so they stop hurting such a fantastic...
Read moreTaling Pling on Silom road is, in my opinion one of the best Thai restaurant in Bangkok. The restaurant set in a pleasant garden surrounding with a comfortable and relax yet chic decor. Very good attentive service staff. The food is outstanding. Start with refreshing drinks which gives a colourful start of Pandanus, Lemongrass and Butterfly Pea juices. Skewered grilled pork marinated with paste and coconut milk was delicious especially when taken with peanut sauce. Chicken in fragrant pandanus leaf is another delicious dish with juicy chicken enhanced by the fragrance of the leaf. The egg omelette with crispy pork lard is sinful but a must have. The green curry slow cooked beef with thai eggplant is to die for. The beef braised to perfection melting in your mouth bursting with flavours. The seafood tom yam soup never fails to impress. The glass noodle stir fried with eggs and crabmeat was outstanding serving it with edible flowers was a nice touch. The delectable mango sticky rice and thai desserts completes a...
Read moreI am in love with this restaurant. If I could host a wedding reception here one day, I would be the happiest bride and woman in the world.
The ambiance was truly unmatched and the food was stand-out. Below are the dishes that we ate: Pomelo salad - this was truly wonderful. Refreshing and filling in the best manner. It combined pomelo with coconut flakes and nuts in a life-changing manner. Pork skewers - above average, cooked perfectly. Tom Yum soup - above average. Red Curry - this was average and the duck was extremely tough to chew. Glass noodles with shrimp - all around delicious. Crispy noodles with shrimp - this was a standout dish. Very unique and refreshing. Mango sticky rice - above average for a restaurant, the rice was great. Chocolate soufflé cake - mixed reviews in the party about it. I thought it was fine but didn’t wow me. The texture was soft and moist. But the chocolate could have...
