Great location and service. The Chai was delicious, Naan was average and the Chicken Tikka Masala's chicken was cooked very nicely. So why 3 stars? The Tikka masala sauce/gravy was very bland. I did not taste any hint of spices, sweet or sour. Just nothing. I quickly ate the chicken and left the sauce behind. Normally, it's the Tikka masala sauce/gravy that's the star of this dish so I am perplexed. Still, a worthy Indian option if you are in the area but do note the Chicken Tikka Masala sauce/gravy is bland and numb.
EDIT - Revisited a week later to order the Chicken Achar, as per Mark Wein (popular food vlogger) and the food was superb! +1 star 🌟 However, despite being sat near the window for pictures (same seat as Mark Wein), I was asked to move to the dark seating near the front due to a larger crowd that came in and needed seating. So I was excavated from my seat to accommodate a larger party. Furthermore, this seating was near about 10 loud f*ckboi tourists which was unpleasant to say the least. Food service is reasonable but Chai service is endemic slow...I finished my food before getting my 2nd Chai I ordered at the same time. All in all, minus 2 stars 🌟 so the original 3 star review has been reduced to 1 star purely based on bizarre service, slow Chai service and bland Chicken Tikka masala sauce. Moving forward, if I eat again here, I will order to-go via Grab to avoid this chaos.
EDIT Part 2: And now their credit card machine is down. They are asking for CASH ONLY. Unacceptable as I did not come here for cash and my expense must hit my...
Read moreI don't live in India and I have totally stopped eating Indian food anywhere outside of India because its very disappointing. When my husband orders Indian, I order something else. We randomly ordered from Amritsr on our first night in Bangkok. Kulcha, chili chicken and butter paneer rolls. The kulcha was mad delicious. The roll although too much egg for me, the chili chicken was fantastic. The butter paneer roll was okay according to me. Not everyone is supposed to like everything and you dont judge a restaurant harshly on the basis of not liking 1-2 dishes because taste is subjective. I, alone, ordered the chicken schezwan lollipop and mutton biryani. The lollipop was gravy based and i was expecting it to be a dry preparation. But as i ate it. It grew on my. I loved it. The mutton biryani was outstanding. I loved every bite of it. I could only eat half of it. I am going to save it for tomorrow. I am wondering how will i heat it up. But I'll figure something out. Hats off to the restaurant. This place will be my regular everytime i come to Bangkok....
