Rehabilitating and relaxing at its best
I’ve been a customer for about 12 years. I have long visits to Bangkok, usually several months in length, and Bai Po massage is a daily ritual. At 72, I have more than my fair share of physical issues and my trip to Bangkok is almost a pilgrimage for my health.
When doing a massage I always have extended durations of four hours in length. A Traditional Thai Massage over 4 hours is transformational - joints, muscles and circulation are switched on with amazing results. Learning to meditate, focused breathing with each movement, puts the mind in a state of bliss as well as mitigates some pain that comes with stretching your limits. This is a twice a week routine.
A 4 hour thai oil massage is the grand champion for relaxation. This is my remedy for jet lag and is very helpful for many of my physical challenges. The is not a Swedish rubdown, rather a very therapeutic massage by a highly trained therapist that understand anatomy at the finest detailed level. I do this 4 days a week.
The Thai Herbal Ball massage (2 hours) combined with an oil massage (2 hours) all preceded by a 30 minute herbal steam is pure heaven. The herbal ball is a physically challenging massage to perform because it requires significant work by the therapist. I do this once a week.
The final routine treatment is a 30 minute steam followed by a full body scrub (1 hour) and an oil massage 3 hours) leaves you as limp as a rice noodle. Your skin is baby soft and every muscle is on holiday.
On some occasions I drop in during the mornings and have a foot massage (2 hours). This is a great way to start the day. I’m relaxed for the entire day and my severely arthritic feet feel absolutely amazing - a rare treat.
With all of this it is important to note that the therapists are all trained at Wat Po Traditional School of Medicine and go through rigorous training in the shop before they touch a customer. They are all good and masters at their craft. I’d suggest asking the owner who is often standing by for a therapist recommendation for your specific needs. He knows the capability and skill level of every therapist in he shop.
Bottomline - go to Bai Po and have a massage. If budget permits make your massage at least 2 hours. Longer durations allow the therapist to take their time and truly...
Read moreWent twice in 2 days. Both times went for the Thai massage for 350 and +100 baht for extra strong and asked them to focus on necks and shoulders. First time I got one of the older gentlemans who gave me an incredible massage. Perfect amount of strength. Not too hard but just hard enough to dig the knots out and crack my back from riding scooters from hours on end on the islands.
2nd time around I got one of the younger gentlemans and it felt like I was getting massage from the incredible hulk. Was pure pain and back feels worse than before. I asked him 3-4 times if he could do just a little less pressure and he didn't seem to understand English well so the nice Thai woman massaging my girlfriend told him what I was trying to say and it was obvious that it was ridiculously hard. But each time I asked I could hear him snickering to himself and continued to do it way too hard. It almost felt like he was purposely trying to hurt me. And at times I literally held my hands over my mouth to try and not scream from the intense pain and pressure he was inducing. Sort of my fault for asking the extra strength but I think for anyone who would get that kind of pressure would not enjoy that. It was pure pain.
I give this place 4 stars because the first guy was incredible and my girlfriend got an amazing massage both times. Not worth the pain to get the extra strength though. And if you do get the extra strength make sure it's from the older more tall gentleman and avoid the younger one with the...

Just being certified by Wat Po Thai Massage Sch, my confidence level in their skills was greatly increased. True to my thoughts, I was greatly satisfied by the whole massage experience. It doesn't matter my masseur spoke little English, she managed to relieve the aches and tiredness felt by my poor legs and body from the intensive walking and shopping in Bangkok for the past 3 days.
We came here after researching for massage near me in Google. There were a few options with good reviews that came up, I'm glad I chose to come here.
Bai Po is inside the Bangkok Inn, and we entered from the entrance of Bangkok Inn. After deciding on a 2hrs traditional Thai massage, we were brought to a room at the upper level where we change into their comfy attire.
The masseur started by having a simple wash of my feet, and the massage began. My masseur rushed through the massage in the beginning however I asked her to slow down and it began to feel good. I totally enjoyed my 2hrs massage and there was nothing to complain about.
The foot reflexology area was full at 4pm when we came down after our massage therefore I suggest to make an advance booking instead of walking in.
It does cost slightly higher than a lot of other massage places around the area but it is totally worth it.
This place is highly recommended and I will definitely...
