Stayed with family for a night and a day as a part of the Thailand trip. The hotel is famous and looks magnificent from the outside. Burger king, Taco Bell , 7/11, massage parlours, etc. are just walkable distance from the hotel. The check in feels much more strict than an airport check in. Had a long queue. I wonder why they are not providing more staff to manage the guests. After a good 45 minutes or more , I was able to give them the necessary documents which is the passport. After the formalities, it was informed that we are to deposit 5000 Thai Baht as a REFUNDABLE SECURITY DEPOSIT for checking in. It was new news for me. Once we settled it we were given 2 key cards per room, which is sort of really helpful, as if one goes out and comes back in, he/ she need not wake up the other one to get in. We selected king size bedded rooms to separate beds as all were couples. We were guided to the 6th floor to our rooms. The rooms were in a long narrow corridor. It looked more like an old motel. But the rooms were good. The tv was on indicating a message that a few construction maintenance going on at night and asking guests to keep curtains closed to maintain privacy. There was a mini refrigerator, hair dryer and safe locker in the room. The bathroom was what disappointed me. I wondered how that hotel got a 4 star with that cramped and narrow bathroom. The shower space was separate with a narrow ledge on the floor. The shower area is separated by a shower curtain which remains so close to the tissue paper roll of the 🚽. The position of the soap holder and the shower head is very uncomfortable. Once you turn, there is a high chance to bump into the ceramic soap stand which is built into the wall and is projecting out. Also the shower head is at a lower height. Persons of 5'11" or higher will definitely hit their head on it. The room appears to be sound proof. But it's not. When I walked along the corridor, I was able to hear all the voices from various rooms. It was a first for me from a 4 star hotel. The wifi was really fast which was a blessing. The pool time and the gym time were from 8 am to 8 pm . Warm towels are provided at the pool side. 1.4 metres deep in a small section and 2.6 metres deep in the bigger section. Another big plus was their breakfast. It's a long list of items, thai, american, chinese, Indian cuisines all combined. Breakfast time spans from 6 am to 10 am. There is a weighing machine kept near the entrance door, which is helpful for the guests proceeding to the airport as they can check their luggage and cabin bags well in advance. The check out is also a tedious process of waiting in queue. The board might indicate a check in queue, but we should take the same for check out too. There are separate places demarcated for group check in. The only problem is maybe 10 individuals is not a group for them or they don't have enough staff to post there as that seat remained vacant. Once we check-out, none would help us with the suitcases. We, ourselves should push the trolley around to the parking, and unload and roll the...

This was the final hotel in our 11-day stay in Thailand. And I must say it was rather extremely disappointing when it came to the rooms in terms of its overall maintenance and experience. The location is great, but sadly, rooms are not. Firstly, we couldn't locate any bellboy to take our bags when checking in. Limited staff at the entrance compared to the size of the property. We carried our own bags to the checkin. Where to begin, the rooms are very outdated and the furniture is breaking apart. Upon check-in, I was directed to a room on the 12th floor sky view wing. When I went in , I could smell the dust, and the furniture and carpets were in bad condition all wavy and coming apart. I went down to the check-in agent, Ms Moon, and she was extremely cold, unapologetic, and dismissive. Told me this is how all the rooms are like and can not do anything about it. She offered me another room on the 17th floor and low and behold, the room was exactly in the same condition as the earlier one. When I tried to speak to her, she couldn't do anything. Asked her if I could speak with her duty manager or GM, said cooly that there is no duty manager and the GM is not available. No upgrades or better rooms were offered due to the inconvenience. It was a take it or leave it approach, and me and the family were tired, so we opted to stay as we too did not have any other immediate solutions. I was only checking in for two nights and decided to take off on my agent for booking/suggesting us this hotel. The agent suggested that I upgrade myself by us paying 1,000 Baht per night and get a better room, I politely declined. All in all, we stayed two nights, and the location is good for all kinds of extracurricular stuff and shopping. Some Halal eating options are available nearby. Amenities are counted and kept in the room. There are many hidden charges if you make a mistake, like loose a key, etc. All in all, this hotel nor its staff make you feel welcome at all. And I have stayed to at least 300 plus hotels in my life. It does not feel anything like a 4-star hotel and gives more like a very dated and old 2 or 3 star hotel vibe. Will not recommend for families with kids who are looking for a 4...

I appreciate what ambassador hotel had done for my visit (anniversary). However, i couldn't with good conscience rate them as very good or excellent. really sabotage your colleagues who try their best to provide good service, to each and every guest.

check in on Monday- waited about half an hour. See the big counters but only one staff was serving for the first 20 minutes. i was third in queue and had a fourth behind somewhat later. Dunno what the lady in black was doing, behind the counter. And please don't let people cut queue from the front, which this instance happened and allowed.

room was good and big 1582 sky wing. had fridge, kettle, safe, room slippers, 2 complementary bottles of water and toiletries. yes they provide towels. my partner really appreciate the decoration. Monday night ac not cold, just barely cooling in the room. no hot water, just lukewarm water. told the reception about the issues. hot water was rectified on Tuesday. furthermore called reception on wed/thurs early morning about 1am + ;to feedback ac not cold. couldn't get a decent sleep.

breakfast- this team was generally good. large, well replenished buffet. I will try later to remember to rate this separately as they don't deserve to be lumped as 3 stars. however my partner saw one Indian guy using his hands to take the prata. (described by my partner on Friday morning) He took several pieces of a stack and then using his third, fourth and little fingers to flick off the remaining pieces. it's kindof gross hearing that hands were used, dunno where the hands had been. please make sure your no hands policy are enforced instead of lip service. seriously not hygienic.

check out was quicker, about 15 minutes with one in front of me. This team was staff good, as one of them told the other guest to queue, rather then letting him cut in line.

By the way, my partner was bumped from your calling your housekeeping ( couldn't understand English about adaptor), to physical reception and physical concierge who finally was persuaded to make a call in Thai on her behalf but ended up, saying all adaptor finished. I managed to call housekeeper at late evening when we were...
