A Nostalgic Favorite Reimagined with Timeless Taste
Returning to this familiar spot after nearly 30 years was both heartwarming and impressive. The restaurant, recently renovated in a modern classic style, strikes a perfect balance between contemporary charm and nostalgic character. The updated décor is elegant and inviting, yet it thoughtfully preserves the spirit of the original establishment—an homage to its long-standing legacy.
Conveniently located along the roadside, the restaurant remains a popular stop for locals and visitors alike. I came with a sense of curiosity, wondering whether the flavors I remembered had stood the test of time. I’m happy to say they have. The taste remains authentic and satisfying, just as I remembered.
One of the most pleasant surprises was that the prices have not increased significantly over the years, making it an excellent choice for quality food at reasonable value. The menu offers a wide selection of dishes, catering to various tastes.
On this visit, I ordered two bowls of porridge, including one with fish. The fish was incredibly fresh, with a pleasant aroma and served in generous, thick slices. Unfortunately, I did find a small fish bone—an unwelcome surprise in an otherwise superb dish. Despite this, I would rate it an 8 out of 10 for its flavor and quality.
A key highlight is that the restaurant is open 24 hours, making it a convenient option for those seeking a well-prepared meal at any time of day or night. Whether you’re a long-time fan or a first-time visitor, this place continues to deliver both comfort and culinary...
Read moreNewly renovated but including a number of modern annoyances. The 'lift music' never ends. On the terrace which, mixed with traffic noise is disorientating. Staff are fit. They have to be cover the distances involved between tables and kitchen pass. Still, service is charming but with a faint air of desperation. I called in for snack at lunch. Ignoring the Pizza menu and something rather oddly entitled Meathead, I found the menu with a mixture of Thai and Chinese dishes. I ordered the stir-fry kale with crispy pork, a quickly prepared dish which - given the half empty dining room - shouldn't have been too challenging for the kitchen. I gave it twenty-five minutes but nothing arrived apart from higher stress levels from the waiting staff. After half an hour I left opting for the same dish at nearby Panteree off Soi 8 which was 100 baht cheaper and arrived in 5 minutes flat. Not that there aren't interesting dishes on the Greenhouse menu. I especially liked the braised ox tongue with jim jaew sauce. Please note my low service rating is for the speed of the kitchen response and not the front-of-house and waiting staff who remain charming and helpful - occasionally desperate -...
Read moreI was walking on the street and the original restaurant I had planned to go to was closed. A taxi cab driver asked if I wanted a ride and I showed him a picture of Thai Green Curry and he recommended the restaurant at this hotel.
I am from the US and the Thai restaurants over in the states make obvious flaws with their Thai green curry. They will use regular eggplant, include vegetables that aren’t supposed to be in it, use store bought paste or shock, use green food coloring to cook their curry.
The Thai green curry I had here was authentic and delicious. I don’t think I am at the ability to say the best in Bangkok but I definitely enjoyed it and I am satisfied. I would...
