I had not been back to Rib Room in about 10 years or so, but the restaurant is always one I hold in high regard for its quality steaks and a laid-back vibe that is ideal for a leisurely dinner with people you like. I am happy to note that has not changed one bit on a recent visit, and it may have even improved over the years. I was first met with a wonderful red and black decor scheme that I really liked the moment I stepped into the place. Those tones were such wonderful foreground colors as I gazed out the window to see nighttime Bangkok. The overall vibe is a classy establishment without the stuffy, hushed voices that are often associated with established steakhouses in Europe and the U.S. Here was a place for a familial gathering or a nice dinner on a date. The focus at Rib Room is naturally the excellent cuts of meats that it has. Whether it is local meats from Thailand or imported Wagyu and Australian ones from overseas, the restaurant offers a very good selection and an equally vast choice of sauces and sides. My 600-gram T-bone steak was a medium-rare delight. Juicy and huge, it was good-quality grilled quite well. The red wine sauce and grain mustard added flavor to the cut that had a fair amount of fat. The plain mashed potatoes dish was smooth and delicious. The starters of the rocket and Caesar salads were no slouch, either, with expertly prepared Caesar dressing at tableside. The rocket salad had a tangy dressing that just perked me up while reducing the strong scent of the leaves effectively. The Rib Room is also a good place to enjoy some creative cocktails and fine wines. It is a world away from the bustling traffic down below. It can be a good escape after a long day in the office. Presentation wise the food looked great but didn't stand out. Flavours were pretty bland for the 6 dishes we ordered from the set menu.
They lacked a synergy among the flavours, with only the tuna dish really standing out.
Wild tuna on tortilla with yuzu truffle: Rich flavour, a good appetizer
Smoked paprika pork, grilled octopus: Bland, octupus needed more grilling, the octopus definitely felt and tasted more broiled than grilled.
Wagyu Beef & Garlic Rice, marinated : not sure what marinade they used, this was a stomach filler but didn't feel like anything special. We had two of these.
Wagyu Bulgogi with Enigi Mushroom: Bland. Just bland. Not sure what the main flavour profile was supposed to be.
Oxtail Parmentier: Looked interesting, I was expecting something much better, was satisfactory but it didn't taste as great as it looked.
The mocktail drinks were also badly prepared for the first round. Bartender was apologetic after we brought it to their attention and then actually used the ingredients that were listed in their menu after we pointed it out(we were served lemonade in nice glasses instead of actual mocktails).
We had actual mocktails for our second round of drinks, but with the third round it seemed like the bartenders didn't make mocktails with actual flavour again. The mocktails were definitely inconsistent with the glasses as well, and the flavour through all three rounds.
Bartender brought us bar snacks and complimentary chocolates after.

The service was top-notch, with special recognition due to Miss Subheksha, who went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of spectacular. Her attentiveness, warm hospitality, and genuine care elevated the entire evening. Not only did she guide us through the menu with expertise, but she also prepared a delicious tableside sauce with remarkable skill and passion, a true testament to her dedication. A shoutout to the bartender as well with her dedication to prepare something outside the menu.
The culinary show was another highlight—watching the Caesar salad and steak prepared beside our table added a theatrical yet personal touch to the meal. The food itself was exceptional, with premium ingredients and expertly crafted flavors that delighted the palate.
