A Gastronomic Paradise: Dark Review
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Bangkok, Dark is a culinary gem that has left an indelible mark on my taste buds. From the moment I stepped through its doors, I was greeted with an ambiance that seamlessly blended sophistication and warmth, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
The decor of the restaurant is a visual masterpiece. Soft, ambient lighting casts a gentle glow over the elegantly arranged tables, adorned with pristine white linens and delicate floral centerpieces. The modern yet cozy interior, complemented by tasteful artwork on the walls, creates an inviting atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at ease. Whether you're on a romantic date, celebrating a special occasion, or simply enjoying a meal with friends and family, the setting at Dark is perfect for any gathering.
But what truly stole the show was the food. The menu is a carefully curated collection of dishes that showcase the chef's creativity and culinary expertise. I started my meal with the Truffle Arancini, a harmonious blend of flavors that danced on my palate. The creamy risotto balls, filled with earthy truffle essence and crispy on the outside, were paired with a unique tomato - basil aioli that added a burst of tangy sweetness, leaving me craving more.
For the main course, I opted for the Braised Short Rib. It was nothing short of extraordinary. The short rib, tender and juicy, practically melted in my mouth. It was slow - cooked to perfection, with a rich, savory sauce that had been reduced to a glossy, flavorful perfection. It was accompanied by a medley of seasonal vegetables, each cooked to retain its natural flavor and texture, and a side of Crispy Parmesan Polenta, which was the perfect complement to the dish. Every bite was a symphony of flavors, expertly balanced and executed with precision.
No meal is complete without dessert, and Dark did not disappoint. The Chocolate Lava Cake was a decadent treat that satisfied my sweet tooth. The rich, molten chocolate center oozed out as I cut into the cake, and its combination with the velvety vanilla ice - cream on the side was a match made in heaven. The presentation was also a work of art, with a drizzle of caramel sauce and a dusting of cocoa powder, making it almost too beautiful to eat.
The service at Dark was top - notch. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, going above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my dining experience was perfect. They were quick to answer any questions I had about the menu, offered excellent recommendations, and refilled my glass without hesitation. Their professionalism and attention to detail truly enhanced the overall dining experience.
In addition to the exceptional food and service, Dark also offers an impressive wine list, featuring a variety of local and international wines that pair perfectly with the dishes on the menu. Whether you're a wine connoisseur or simply looking for a refreshing beverage to accompany your meal, you're sure to find something to suit your taste.
Overall, my experience at Dark in Bangkok was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, I was treated to a culinary journey that I will cherish forever. The combination of exquisite food, warm ambiance, and outstanding service makes this restaurant a must - visit for anyone exploring the vibrant food scene in Bangkok. I can't wait to go back and explore more of the delicious offerings on the menu. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and make a reservation at Dark – you won't be...
Read moreI literally come here just for the spicy chicken salad 🤤 (not picture because I ate it all before I remembered to snap a pic) it’s the best salad I’ve ever had. It’s reminds me of Mediterranean food. Perfect acidity with the pickled jalapeños and chopped tomatoes and other herbs.
I abhor tomatoes traditionally but I inhale them every time I have this salad. If they had D’ark in the states I’d order religiously.
Now the chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream should be renamed because the vanilla ice cream really is the prize here. With vanilla ice cream you usually don’t expect much but OMG the vanilla ice cream here 🤯. My only complaint is that the serving size wasn’t big enough 😩.
But still Amazing!!!
I had the kir peach drink and that was also good (captured in the video.) If you want a drink to give you a solid feel good without the dehydration headache of having a stronger cocktail then this will do perfectly. It’s a sweet drink so if have a dry palette then I would suggest trying something else.
The women staff here are always kind and welcoming. The men, not so much. Overall though always a pleasant dining experience here. Dinner and a...
Read moreThis is a great place to take a break from shopping at Icon Siam and enjoy some delicious sweets and coffee.
The pancakes are moderately sweet and very mouthwatering with a fluffy batter as if it were a sponge. The whipped cream is served by the waitress just before you eat it. It is even better when you eat it with the syrup and bananas on the plate.
The chocolate lavas are firm with a moderately sweet outer dough, and the chocolate sauce inside is very rich and also moderately sweet. However, the balance of the two is very well balanced, and when the sauce is mixed with the outer chocolate dough, the flavors of several kinds of chocolate complexly overlap in your mouth, creating a very deep taste.
You can choose the origin and brewing method of the specialty coffee. Personally, I think it tastes better when brewed with a French press, which is rare in Bangkok. I chose Ethiopia. I recommend it.
The staff is friendly and the service is excellent.
I think the price is reasonable considering the taste, service...
