🇹🇭 ICONSIAM Thai Street Food (SookSiam) — A Festive Celebration of Thai Culture & Cuisine
We were truly enthralled the moment we stepped into SookSiam at ICONSIAM — a stunning showcase of Thai heritage that brings together food, culture, and art under one roof. From 1st to 28th July, they are holding a special cultural festival celebrating local traditions, with an impressive expansion beyond the usual vendors.
🎪 A Feast for the Senses Beyond the regular river-style floating food houses that recreate the charm of Thai boat markets, the festival featured over 100 additional stalls. These offered everything from handcrafted Thai artworks and souvenirs to local snacks, fruits, and bath amenities. We were absolutely amazed by the incredible variety and happily supported the local community by trying as many dishes as we could and purchasing some handmade items.
🍽️ What We Ate (and Loved) • Fried Oyster Omelette with Prawns – Crispy on the outside, rich and juicy inside — perfectly executed. • Braised Pork Knuckle Noodles with Pork Intestine – Deep, savory broth with melt-in-your-mouth pork; a hidden gem. • Thai Milk Tea with Pearls – Smooth and fragrant, a classic done right. • Mango Sticky Rice – Fresh, fragrant mangoes paired with glutinous rice and sweet coconut cream — an iconic finish.
🛍️ More Than Just Food Aside from the culinary delights, we appreciated the opportunity to explore local bath and body products made from traditional Thai herbs and ingredients — a lovely touch that added to the authenticity of the whole experience.

This’s in my opinion the Thai food paradise. Even you’re Thai you’ll live this 25,000 sq.m food plaza Sook Siam, affectionately known as Bangkok’s ‘indoor floating market’ is a amazing architectural wonder as well as a fun place to appreciate Thailand’s local cultural heritage, food, and crafts all under one roof in the comfort of a gigantic air conditioned hall. Human description can hardly do justice to this visual wonderand it’s best experienced in person. Best of all there is no admission fee. While on the surface this might sound a little artificial, there is nothing artificial about the authenticity of the food, snacks and crafts sold here. Vendors were carefully hand picked out of thousands from various floating markets and provinces all over Thailand to set up shop here - in short they are the best of the best. The street food sold here were truly authentic and unparalleled, the crafts were beautiful and pleasing to the eye. Prices of goods were relatively higher than those in actual markets, but not by a lot as the organizers do a great job in keeping them fairly low. Alsi bring cash (Bhat) as quite a few stalls and vendors do not accept credit cards. Be prepared to spend at least a couple hours here and it should be done in a unhurried manner. Sook Siam should be a priority on...
