TL;DR: As a non-thai person from Indonesia, this is the first time I dined in here. The food is tasty and flavourful with really helpful waitresses and good service. The place is also cozy with a really nice decoration.
The Atmosphere: The place is well-decorated with warm colour and very cozy. The seating placements, decorations and familiar feeling gives your appetite the right stimulant.
The food: I ordered 3 dishes: (i) Tom Yam Soup; (ii) Crispy Pork Belly with Chilli and Salt Stir (need to check again the accuracy of the name) ; and (iii) Shrimp Omellete.
Tom Yam Soup: I expected to have a fresh, sour and flavourful Tom Yam soup and it did not dissapoint. The ingredients in the soup hits just right for my belly. The shrimp is delicate and not chewy, the spices really warm your stomach and the sour and rich flavour just makes you keep on wanting for more. Definitely a must-try!
Crispy Pork Belly with Chilli and Salt Stir: a very well-cooked pork which is crispy in the outside with the meat still very juicy. The combination of herbs, i.e. chilli, pepper corn (I guess), etc., really blends well in your mouth. Reay good when combined with warm white rice. Another must-try
Prawn Omellete: it is an omellete with prawn in it. It is good. What else to expect? (also it comes with a rather spicy and sweet sauce, which is optional)
The Service: The waiters and waitresses are really nice and helpful. They guided us through the menu and help us decided on what food to choose. The waiting-time is also reasonable. We got our food right on time. Superb!
All in all, it is a very good restaurant for me and my wife, and you should definitely try it! It is a bit...
Read moreI decided to visit this restaurant for lunch with my family because of the many good reviews, and we were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a very disappointing experience.
We ordered several dishes including Tom Yum Goong, Poo Pad Pong Curry, Stir-fried Morning Glory, Som Tum, and grilled sea bass. Since the staff could not communicate well in English, they didn’t confirm our order properly, which already made me a little uneasy. As I feared, the Poo Pad Pong Curry was never placed in the order, and by the time we realised, we had almost finished the other dishes. We had to reorder it, and it only came out after we were almost done eating, so we couldn’t really enjoy it.
What shocked us the most, we found a contact lens inside the Morning Glory dish. When we pointed this out, a woman who seemed to be in charge came over. Instead of offering an apology, she simply took the dish back to the kitchen. After several minutes, the dish was brought back again without any explanation or even a simple “sorry.” This was extremely disappointing and unprofessional.
The food overall was average in taste, nothing special considering the price. The staff seemed passive and unmotivated. There was no friendliness, and even when we left after spending nearly 3,000 THB for three people, no one bothered to say goodbye. It is very difficult to understand why a place with such poor service still charges a 17% service charge and VAT on top.
Overall, it was a frustrating and unpleasant dining experience. The management really needs to focus on staff training and customer service. I...
