I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the dinner cruise provided by Meridian Cruise in Bangkok, and I must say it was an enjoyable and memorable evening. From the breathtaking views to the entertainment, and of course, the delectable buffet, the overall experience was well worth the rate we paid.
The first thing that struck me was the stunning view. As we set sail along the Chao Phraya River, the illuminated skyline of Bangkok created a mesmerizing backdrop. The twinkling lights of the city's landmarks provided a truly magical atmosphere that added a touch of romance to the entire cruise.
Speaking of romance, the live band on board played a selection of soothing and romantic melodies that complemented the ambiance perfectly. The soft tunes not only enhanced the experience of cruising along the river but also set the stage for a delightful evening.
The dinner buffet was a decent spread, offering something for everyone's taste buds. Considering the reasonable rate of approximately 600 THB per person, it was undeniably a good bargain. While the food was satisfactory and enjoyable, it did not leave a lasting impression as something outstanding. Nonetheless, the variety of dishes, including both local Thai, Indian and international options, ensured that everyone could find something to savor.
The evening also included Thai dancing performance. The talented dancers displayed graceful moves and showcased the elegance of Thai culture, providing an authentic touch to the overall experience. It was a delightful addition to the entertainment lineup and brought a taste of local tradition...
Read moreWhat an amazing experience! A river cruise that takes you right through the heart of Bangkok covering a few amazing city attractions (like Waht Arun). The buffet, had both the Thai options as well as Indian. The food may not be exceptional in terms of taste but the variety in options was good. ( Alcohol drinks if you want to buy are chargeable and not part of the buffet bookings)
We booked the 7.30 pm slot, which gave us an amazing view of the city under night lights. The sitting is in the upper deck and lower deck, and I would suggest you take the lower one if you are into a lively atmosphere of live music and dance. The experience was too good, music from various parts of the world, everybody was dancing to their own beat. But if you are somebody who has come to have a quiet experience filled with cityscapes and moments with your near and dear ones, the upper deck is for you. But overall it's a great option to spend your evening in Bangkok.
Note - The onboard location can be confusing at times. It's behind Iconsiam, there's an alley on the right side of the mall that takes you to the pier behind. There will be a desk at the pier, for meridian cruise where you will have to board yourself and they will provide you your table number and your designated pier for onboard. If you have an evening slot please leave at the very least 1 hour 30 minutes before. The traffic in Bangkok in the evening is too much. Otherwise, you will have to run like we had to. Your cab drops you at the front of Iconsiam then you have to walk, or if you are late, then RUN !! and it's...
Read moreThere are lot of dinner cruises available example meridian, white orchard, chao pharaya princes, Alangka cruise etc. I had booked the table on the spot at icon Siam pier Bangkok in meridian cruise. This tour was about 2 hours and start from icon Siam mall and drop at same location. Food: there was buffet system of multinational cuisine. Veg option was very limited ( rice with potato sabzi, veg soup, noodles). In food i struggled to find out any edible food. Though I am non vegetarian but I didn’t eat any non veg dishes because of their smell (Thai oil) which was unpleasant.
Atmosphere: dinner cruise in our itinerary was unforgettable. You can enjoy city’s night view, high rise building from your seat( I had chose upper deck). There are tourists from different countries, you can chit chat with them.
Service: They are very professional in their services. Overall service is satisfactory.
Recommendation: I had very disappointed by their foods option. In meridian cruise hardly 2-3 indian couple or family were there and rest was from other countries. At the time of boarding in cruise I get to know that many indian booked Chao Pharaya princes dinner cruise. I recommend if you can manage in your food option then Meridian cruise would be best option and if you want some indian atmosphere with veg options in your dinner you can try with Chao Pharaya princes...
