To set expectations, Serene hasn't got any bits of old fishing gear or driftwood hanging from the ceiling, no coloured lights, lasers, bean bags to lie on, sea views or fire shows. If you want those things in a restaurant, then there are plenty of other places. If you want a simple but varied menu, the food cooked well and served quickly with generous portions, very friendly and efficient staff and something nearer the feel of a restaurant in a regular Thai town, then you are like me and will really enjoy this place. I visited this restaurant last night for 2 of us to eat cost 330 baht the food was absolutely unreal. The springs rolls wasn’t amazing but the pad Thai and the morning dish was great! Also with 2 drinks still only cost 330 baht most our dinners on the island have cost us between 1200-1800 baht a meal as we have been going to the highly recommended ones on the island which in my opinion are extremely over rated for the price.
