Delicious food and terrible service.
Good cafe idea, lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Prices are above average.
The ingredients are not listed in the menu, we have to be very selective in products due to food intolerance, but it is impossible to find out exactly what is included in the dish. The staff answers these questions reluctantly or does not answer at all, it seems that they are afraid that we will steal their exclusive recipes :)
Since the beverage menu is not clearly written, at some times they didn’t take extra money to replace cow's milk with almond milk, at some times they added at the bill 30 baht separately for this.
They had some kind of trouble with the staff, not a single visit was complete without errors, although the order was always announced clearly. Several times, instead of yeast-free bread, they brought us pita. They may forget to bring the sauce to the some bowl or bring "falafel plate" instead of "hummus plate" etc.
Each time, the hostility of the staff was unpleasantly surprised. It seems that we are not guests but some enemies. Nowhere else in the Country of Smiles have we seen this. We were here 4-5 times a month, each time hoping that everything that was happening was some kind of ridiculous accident, today our patience is over.
Today we were served by a waiter who absolutely did not know the menu and even wrote in English very slowly and in syllables. We even had to help him write the order (!!!) on the form and, as a result, still resolve issues with other employees. So, in the order it was clearly written "Banana Pancakes Kids 1." We were first brought 2 servings instead of one. Then, the pancakes were counted not from the children's menu, but from an adult, which are twice as expensive. They explained this "By the fact that they made a mistake in the kitchen and they prepared an adult for you". We were offered to pay for the staff error, can you imagine this?
You can understand such cases when they are single, but when instead of resting and enjoying food you are constantly forced to resolve issues and find out something ... I could even pay for these double pancakes if they would come up to me and explain everything normally, apologize. It's not about the money, but about the disregard for the guests.
Fortunately, there are many vegetarian and vegan food restaraunts in Samui, where it is also tasty, the prices are lower and they are always glad to see you. That is why, I will not recommend the...
Read moreHey, You remember our nice chat this morning. My family and me were very disappointed about the food tonight. Even I was surprised that nobody asked us if we were happy about the service and the food. Maybe you will delete my little feedback. I would recommend you to reduce your Menü around 60% make the food more delicious, better, and the kitchen more efficient. Your staff was very friendly and warm. That s my report:
This morning I had a nice walk and met later by coincidence the owner from the greenlight cafe. We had a cappuccino and a nice chat at his bar, he explained his delighted öko concept and about his delicious biological food. Because my oldest son is vegan and two others vegetarian, I ask them that we have diner in that nice and cosy place. We went there tonight and had a nice welcome. After that we studied the menue which was very urban, a lot of those bowls with natural food, justices and a kind of some sushi, which not sushi, and a lot more. Everything sounds very healthy and fusion. It took us a while to understand the complexity of the dishes but after a while we all found our way. The food was slow. The food was not only slow cultivated but also slow served. We were 7 of us, the kitchen was maybe not prepared for such a number of guests. Even one dish was forgotten. That was all acceptable we could handle that. We all accepted that the food at the Greenlight Cafe should be nice, fresh and various like we experienced it the last tree weeks in Thailand. But our dishes were cold, some overcooked , no taste and strange. The owner even didn't greet us when we left the place or even didn t asked us if we were happy about the food and the service. Maybe it s enough to be green. We were all really disappointed we thought the place, the story and the philosophy the owner told me this morning would the place and our evening make special. It was special but not authentic and not in a good way. I wish that maybe my feedback can give some...
Read moreIf you’re in Koh Samui, make this a place you go to! The food is phenomenal, with lots of vegetarian and vegan options. The food prepared here proves that healthy food can be just as delicious and decadent as less nutrient dense foods/meals. I had gone to the restaurant twice—once for dinner and another time for breakfast. I had the Asian Salmon Bowl, which was incredible! For breakfast, I had a Blueberry Field Smoothie Bowl topped with peanut butter, which was perfection! 💕😀
In addition to the food being amazing, the owner and staff are phenomenal. Patrick, who is the owner, is so kind. In fact, as I was leaving the restaurant, I had asked a question about advice he may have had regarding transport to catch my ferry for the following morning at Nathon Pier. Without hesitation, Pat and one of the wonderful members of the staff, made a phone call to a taxi driver they have a good rapport with. In minutes, Pat had my taxi transport settled for me. I mention this small moment because It highlights the unique and incredible kindness and generosity of Pat and his staff. If you’re in Koh Samui, make it a point to come to this great spot in...
