The best hidden gem in Patong! This is a very unassuming place that you could so easily miss. It is at the very north end of Patong Beach. Go past Diamond Cliff Resort, up the little hill and you will see a post with the menu. Go down some rickety steps hewn out of the rocks and you will find yourself on a concrete platform built into the rocks. It’s just a few plastic tables and chairs and the kitchen is just a shack. But don’t be fooled by the basic appearances! We had honestly the best food I have eaten in Thailand with spectacular views of the beach; sadly a showery day for us so not the greatest views but the umbrellas over the tables were sufficient shelter. The first time we went we had patang curry with shrimp and chicken in ginger. It was so good we went back a few days later. Next time we had Tom Yum soup which was incredible and a meal in itself, coconut soup (ditto) then fried rice with shrimp green curry and another patang chicken curry. We could not eat it all as there was so much. Great friendly and fast service and good prices. Don’t...
Read moreFound this little gem of a restaurant on the northern end of Patong Beach. Nothing fancy about the set up, cheap plastic chairs and tables but it's great to feel the sand under your feet and the sea views, wow, magnificent! Didn't get off to the greatest of starts however, ordered Penang curry and was served Green curry, which is a dish I would never order. I also ordered a serving of chicken satay. Unfortunately, the curry and the chicken satay were both far too salty for my tastebuds, which was a shame. Drinks here are excellent value; smoothies and coffee around 50-90 baht, bottled beer 60 baht, glass of wine 150 baht and cocktails 170 baht. Service staff, whilst their English is not great, are friendly and attentive. Even though the food didn't quite hit the mark, this place is definitely worth a visit for the...
