Crowded, dirty & rude. Don' bother making a special trip to this tiny crowded dirty restaurant, while the duck was good there sure wasn't very much of it. I ordered the duck on noodles with pork dumplings and a plate of sautéed greens. The duck with noodles was served to me with a spoon, not sure why because there was zero liquid in the bowl, also the dumplings were cold, not sure how they managed that because the place was busy... so they must have let my food sit and age for awhile. For a place that has been in business for so many years you would think that perhaps they could upgrade to some non plastic children's table and stools. But then again perhaps their interior design is being sponsored by Fisher Price! I never received the sautéed greens I ordered and what I was served wasn't enough to even be considered an adequate amount for lunch. I had to stroll down the street and find another duck restaurant to have some more lunch, so yea.....the price isn't expensive but then again the portion size is very small. The taste of the duck was good but then again I have a restaurant in Chicago about 1 block from where I live that has duck thats just as good, and real tables, chairs and service with a smile. Anyway skip this place unless you like to be crowded...
Read moreI really don’t know why this place is popular. I came in at 11am on a Wednesday. It was just me and another table. Ordered a duck noodle with wonton, and chrysanthemum juice.
The duck was dry and tasted like I got left from the day before. Same goes for the wonton. It was so dry and cold, it felt like it was yet another leftover. I couldn’t eat the other wonton. Noodle had a sweet flavour which isn’t bad but not outstanding. The juice was also way too sweet.
I added the bitter melon soup to my order to cut down the sweetness and to add a bit of warmth to my food. The pot of soup was literally right next to me but she went to the front and got me stock soup instead. I said I wanted bitter melon soup and there’s a sign in English for bitter melon soup next to me. She insisted that it was the soup. Ok whatever. I tasted it and nope, this is just the stock soup.
I couldn’t finish any of my items. I usually would at least finish my drink. Nope I was too frustrated to bother. The only saving grace was that it was 104 baht. She didn’t charge me for the soup. I would gladly pay more if this place actually lived up to the hype. Very...
