Samui Aussie, Steak & Seafood — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

It is too noisy at this location. Not due to Samui Aussie, but due to the restaurant across the road. I was relieved when the band stopped playing. All I can say is good luck to Samui Aussie and I hope the bar/restaurant across the road does not damage your business too much.

Now then for my food. We had fish (red snapper) and chips. It didn't come out looking like the picture, but the food tasted really really nice. I would have preffered more chips (because im greedy), but the food was really good. And they allowed my partner to try two king prawns as she wanted to see how they tasted. I didnt have any, but my partner said that they were really nice as they are meatier than english prawns (english prawns are rubbish).

Revisited this restaurant (I wasn't going to initially as the noise was to much) Hooray the music across the road has turned down their speakers and they are no longer hijacking the Samui Aussie, Steak & Seafood restaurant. Now that I can actually hear it properly it sounds pretty good and makes nice background music (I might visit the location tomorrow). People are sitting down in the Samui and enjoying the meal and can converse without shouting. Rather than rushing off I decided to stay a little longer and have a few drinks.

As a vegan I went here so my husband could have Bbq prawns and I would eat his sides of salad, corn and baked potato. I was dying for a bbq baked potato. After ordering g it pretty much went down hill which is unfortunate. The prawns were cooked on the bbq next to where we were sitting then left on the side for 30 minutes. No idea what was going on. After we asked a server we were presented with the prawns, a slice of lettuce and grated cabbage and 2 small pieces of corn. When asked where the baked potato was we were told they run out. Not what we wanted to hear. The server appeared 20 minutes with a potato and gave it to the bbq chef. Ok, I'm assuming it's cooked through and just needs bbqing. After ordering another drink which came wrongly at 1st attempt the potato was served another 30 minutes later after the bbq chef 'forgot about it'. The outside was cooked and the inside was raw.

Not the best experience, running out of potatoes and beer. Please get some organisation in how you run the servers and chefs. It was a free for all.

My husband loved the prawns, just a shame...

I’ve read a lot of the reviews on this place and can see how they’d receive lower reviews based on food photos vs outcome. This place is priced pretty fair for being just off the beach and in the middle of the tourist zone. We had a great experience and would recommend this restaurant. We had the jumbo burger 👍🏼 Fish and Chips 👍🏼 Chicken Schnitzel 👍🏼 and Pineapple fried rice 👍🏼

The appetizer: fried Calamari and Shrimp came out hot and super crispy and delicious

Main meals listed above all came out at the same time. The only negative about it was that 3 of the 4 dishes had French fries and non of the fries were hot (felt like they sat under a hot lamp for a long time) and the fries themselves weren’t very good (they had that taste like they sat in a freezer for a few years) and if I could recommend anything it would be to cut potatoes fresh in house 🤷🏻‍♂️

Overall we enjoyed the food and atmosphere and the staff was just as advertised in other reviews - SUPER friendly and nice and ready to be of service 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
