I am only giving 2 stars only for location as it's close to central Samui , close to beach pool is small but will do. Coming to staff , there was sheer hatered for us it seems they were not expecting us or were least bothered about us. There was no cleanliness and staff was Missing, they are heavily understaffed . The receptionist were carrying our luggage and one at a time. So we had to carry our stuff too We booked a room for 2 x 2 guests but they cut out stuffs to 3 pax as we were 3 people. Later when my guest arrived they said beyond 10 am is chargeable at 1500 bhat if the guests stays later than 10 am. Which hotel on earth does that ? That too when i paid the price fully for two guests. Since we were from India we dint say much.... otherwise i would have smacked that receptionist right in his face for talking with me like that. Coming to management they have some very wierd rules , like coupon system for buffet (if u lose it, you are finished) and welcome drinks in be which they used correction fluid and made it 3 while we paid for 4 ...like how cheap can you get ? Are you really a resort? You have to really stoop so low. They also have some extremely bizzare rules like cleaning will be done on 2 days later, towel will be collected next day , beach towel will not be collected etc. We had to clean our own room for the 3 days that we stayed. No cleaning was done. I think the hotel manager is a sadist who loves to implement wierd rules to annoy guests. We don't care about your rules! If you bother us we will switch to another hotel. The breakfast buffet server girl was deaf , we request her sauce she serves us sausage. Doesn't understand a word of English. They give you wifi password but wifi is so poor. You. Barely legal even get a signal. Mobile towers are also very low here so you might have to goto reception to get some signal For everything they had only one explanation " we don't have staff" is that my fault? I am on a holiday or vacation i don't want to add your headaches to my peace time. While we were returning from beach the guard did not let us enter and asked us to show proof of stay late at night at midnight, he then casually torched our rooms on regular basis as if we are some thieves. Do you do this with all your guests ? You made our 2 day stay such a nightmare. We moved to nearby resort lub'd and we were so relieved, they have much small Space but definitely much larger heart for hospitality. Learn something from them.
While checking out also we had to move our stuff on our own.

Read moreWe have just returned from our 2 week trip and I cannot highly recommend this hotel! This is my 2nd time at Sala and I plan to keep on returning! From arrival and check-in the staff were so friendly and helpful! Moreover a bespoke service where you can choose your pillow type, body lotion and even the flavoured bar of soap for your room - what a nice touch and a great way to make you feel cared for - well done Sala!!! In addition the Sala app was a valuable tool - we could communicate with the front desk via messenger and also scroll the page for items such as in-room dining! ||We booked a Pool Room again and were again very happy with the quality which was maintained to a high standard throughout our stay! The cleaning team did a great job - thank you! ||The room is spacious, lovely outside space with a reasonable sized pool which we used on a daily basis! Lots of amenities provided including water, milk, fruit , nuts, teas and coffees! ||We had daily breakfast at the hotels restaurant Sexy Fish - the food was plentiful, fresh and a good selection offered ( the daily specials was a nice touch). The service was impeccable - special shout out to our waiter ( I think his name was Team) and the rest of the staff who really looked after us each morning! ||We used the pool / beach everyday and enjoyed the vibe and set up! Lots of comfy beds, pool was clean and the service was again of a high standard! Thanks to Joseph and the rest of the team at the beach bar for their friendly service and looking after us! We especially loved the happy drinks from 4 - 6pm! I miss the mango mule cocktail!!! ||All the staff were friendly throughout and so happy to help. What was also a nice touch was the General Manager (Erwin) who walked around the beach and pool area, chatting to everyone and making sure we were looked after and enjoying ourselves! ||The hotel is very central with an artisan coffee shop, Tops daily shop and pharmacy at its door step! A short walk then to Chaweng for restaurants and more shops - cannot...

We (two guests) stayed at this hotel from June 22 to July 2, 2025. I had also stayed here in June 2024 and had a great experience, but this time was completely different.
On June 29, I discovered that around $200–$300 had been stolen from my wallet in the room. The wallet was completely empty, and I know for certain that I left money inside it. When I reported this to reception, the male receptionist immediately dismissed my complaint, insisting it “could not be” because they “trust their staff.” He only checked CCTV footage for the day before, despite the theft possibly happening earlier, since I hadn’t touched my wallet for several days. Instead of helping, he implied it was my fault or that I had lost the money, which was absolutely not the case.
The following day, I also discovered that my sports shoes were missing. Again, we went to reception and my roommate recorded the conversation. The same receptionist insisted no one entered our room, although cleaning staff had been inside multiple times that week. His attitude quickly turned defensive. He repeated that they “trust their staff” and even said, “It’s interesting you went to the room so many times but only noticed the shoes missing today.” This was extremely dismissive, as the shoes had been left untouched since we arrived, and I only looked for them once I needed them.
At no point did the hotel take responsibility or show genuine concern. They did not inform us about any progress with their supposed “investigation” until we confronted them again. In the end, they simply suggested we go to the police, knowing we were leaving in two days and it would not be practical.
I lost around $400 worth of money and belongings during this stay. While I loved this hotel during my first visit, this experience has completely broken my trust. The management did not support us, did not take our concerns seriously, and instead deflected blame. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel, and I will not...
